I’m from a small town in Leicestershire, called Ashby de la Zouch. I currently manage a busy cocktail bar within that town. Myself and two other colleagues have established this bar and restaurant, making it a success. It will be a sad place to leave as all staff seem like family. I’ve never once dreaded going into work.

I lived in London for five years in my early 20’s. beginning at Top Shop on Oxford Street, then to west end bars, then to night clubs, then into club events and then on to small exclusive events in and around Mayfair.

I also worked a few occasions within London fashion Week.

After meeting so many people, from different parts of the world they inspired me to travel. So I decided to move back home and begin to save for a trip to Thailand then to America.

My trip to Thailand was my first trip travelling solo. I booked one internal flight, from then on winged the entire trip. I researched some places I wanted to see, others I took recommendations by others travellers whilst there. I missed the northern jungle area out but targeted he beautiful islands. I loved the wildlife such as the monkeys and the wild growing orchids. My accommodation was on the day found, so some days I were in comfortable hotels other days I had to make do with jungle shacks.

The following year I planned to do a 5-week road trip from East Coast to West Coast of America. Flights were booked into New York then out of LA. The 5-week middle was there for my imagination. The original plan was to go with a friend of mine, but she pulled out last minute due to expense.

Believing I could manage on my own, I just went for it. It was my greatest adventure so far. I met a friend in LA, the last few days of my trip. Shortly after returning to England I flew out to LA for another 6 weeks. I stayed at his home in the Hollywood hills, in West Hollywood. Celebrity neighbours, hardly felt real.

Thirsty for more, currently looking for a career that combines working within travel.
