About Me

Circumnavigate the globe

I just finished two years working in Amman, Jordan and back in DC for a year before I move on to Ottawa, Canada. I'm learning French full time at the moment for work, so would love to practice French if that's something you have to offer :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have mostly been on the surfing side of CSing during my travels in the Middle East and around the US, and hosted a decent bit in Jordan. I finally have a place to host again, but prefer knowing in advance if you're interested in surfing, last minute requests are hard to swing.

I initially got involved in CS when I was studying abroad in Jordan in 2009. I found an amazing host who helped me get my feet on the ground, and throughout the 6 months I was there, I met many of my closest friends through the local CS group and our weekly walks and other activities. I also surfed in Lebanon, Israel, Turkey, and around the West Coast of the US.

I dabble in a lot: photography, music, climbing, hiking, sailing. I am looking forward to being able to do more of these this summer, especially getting out on my mountain bike! I also spend a decent bit of time with a mug of coffee and a good book. Of course, one of my favorite things is travel, but it unfortunately does not happen as often as I would like.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: The Unbearable Lightness of Being, Catch-22, Lord of the Rings, Infinite Jest, Irresistable Revolution...

Music: currently on my list - Mumford and Sons, Decemberists, Fleet Foxes, the Punch Brothers, Bon Iver, The Civil Wars, Gungor, mewithoutyou...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I ran my first 10k under a full moon in the desert of Wadi Rum, Jordan. About killed myself since I didn't actually train for it, but had an amazing experience running (at times solo) in the dark under stars and moon.
