Overview
About Me
I'm a citizen of the wold, raised in Patagonia (South America) lived in USA for 13 years (Boston and California) and have a Gambian and Brazilian residence card. In Africa the universe made me cross path with my daughter, Amaia (AKA Assanatu), born on December 2014 (she adores to have guests and be hosted. She is very charming, social and likes new people!). Tons of paperwork latter I had the honor to return with her holding my hand and sharing a last name. Always looking for warm weather, we live in the Amazon rainforest now. We are almost nomads, but who knows, we may have a place for a tent/hamock in Alter do Chão, Pará , Brazil.
I have experienced "good luck, bad luck, who knows" (my favorite story, even way before some films made it famous) and that's how I ended up having a very nice life after a long series of bad luck/good lucks, from homeless in a rent a car to having 2 houses to a mud and straw place in Africa, to my bright and luminous daughter, to my indigenous maloca in the Amazon 🌟.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Have been 'couchsurfing' even before the internet, been hosted and hosting people met by chance since I was very young. In my latter 20's I hitchhiked from Argentina to Guatemala with only a backpack as all material possession, visiting people and places that would had never meet/see if i would had take the bus or stay in a hotel, hosted by strangers that were friends after a couple of hours. Some of them even become family. All the way I took pictures that sold latter at newspapers in some countries in the Americas, like Panama, Colombia, Argentina... (Even Bolivians are 'Americans', our bothers of the north are "United-Stadians" 😉)
I have also been a member for years of Servas, a nice organization that promotes peace by exchanging cultures, please check it out, they need new young members.
Interests
Devotee of Pachamama, where the praying include snorkeling, whales, hiking, hotsprings, waterfalls, the mountains, the sea, the rivers, the beach...
Believe in recycling (starting with buying most of my clothes at thrifty stores), buying local, conscious eating, and taking the energy to do that little extra step that makes a difference, for example, picking up some plastic at the beach/trail. Remind me to tell the story of the starfish when we meet.

Music, Movies, and Books
Independent and foreign movies. Latin music made me dance, but so does blues and rock and roll. Harry Potter changed my life, as did Kindle, now I always have a book(s). Since there is no better section to say this, I haven't watch the news or read a newspaper for longer than I can remember, but sometimes changing the paper of the cage of my parrots, something catch my attention and so is that my friends can get home to find me neck twisted, moving droppins and food to read an article at the bottom of the cage!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Adopting my luminous daughter. Such a present life was holding for me without me having a clue.
Writing 6 books during 2020/21. I know they weren't easy times but my muses and I had a blast.
Swimming with dolphins at Hawaii, while working/volunteering (WWOOF) at an organic farm. Your brain can't be happy and mad at the same time, so if something upset me, I just remember been on the ocean, 100 yards from the cost, surrounded by dolphins and reflecting the sun on my chest. Joyous guaranty.
Volunteer at the Amazon. Such a memories... Macarena!
Snorkeling with whales at Patagonia. When the baby (10 tons of it) came to close I though the 50 tons of the mom will chew me up, but she just swam around while the pup use me as a ball, hitting me with his 'baby' tail. At the time I thought, "if I die here, I die happy!".
Teach, Learn, Share
This is not something that can be taught but I wish we all would work as volunteers, even if it is only once in a blue moon. From helping small festivals happens in California, to cooking for the homeless in Argentina, singing Macarena with children in the Amazon and Africa, chatting with elders in Boston, my best and more joyful moments are those when I'm sharing how little I know or helping others. It really explain the meaning of life, and make you lots of friends. I try to have a healthy and ecological style of life/eating and I can share that with you too. *more on been a pescatarian below.
I can also teach you how to do a tapping meditation, or we can open the field for a tiny family constellation.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Time, that for me is the core of couchsurfing. How to prepare Italian food and a kick butt hummus, I guarantee people will ask you for the recipe if you make it. By the way, we are pescetarians (let me save you the trip to Wikipedia: ""pescatarian" is a neologism formed as a portmanteau of the Italian word pesce ("fish") and the English word "vegetarian"") so we don't eat red meat or chicken but under exceptional circumstances we bend the rules a little. We can also be defined as vegans that like fish, cheese and ice cream too much 🤣😂
