About Me

Radiographer by profession, photographer by passion, and adventurer at heart!

Check out my shots on instagram (instagram.com/danielebaciucco) and my portfolio (https://www.behance.net/danielebaciucco).

My love for travel began with an Erasmus in Valencia, where I picked up Spanish and caught the travel bug. After graduating, I studied English in San Diego (California), making friends from all over the world. This journey led me to work in the UK and, of course, to explore as much as I could in between!

I’ve backpacked across more than 40 countries, from South America to Southeast Asia, from India to the Far East, and from North Africa to the Middle East—always seeking out the less-traveled paths and authentic local experiences. I’ve slept in temples, fished shrimps in Vietnam, hiked jungles with locals, fed elephants, and even got bitten by a monkey!

People often say I’m easy-going, humorous, and adventurous. I speak Italian, Spanish, and English, and to me, Couchsurfing isn’t just about a place to sleep; it’s about sharing stories, cultures, and stepping out of your comfort zone.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I play guitar and have a deep love for almost any genre—whether it’s rap, rock, blues, salsa, or soul, I’m always down for good music.

Movies & Series: Some of the best movies I’ve seen include The Deer Hunter, Memento, and for series, you can’t beat Breaking Bad.

Books: I’m a big fan of classic literature. Two of my favorites are 1984 by George Orwell and Slaughterhouse-Five by Kurt Vonnegut.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

• Swam with bioluminescent plankton in the magical waters of Phi Phi Island, feeling like I was glowing along with the stars.
• Drove through the night on El Trampolín de la Muerte, the notorious “Death Road” between Ecuador and Colombia, navigating one of the world’s most dangerous routes.
• Traveled by boat up the Mekong River from Can Tho in Vietnam to Phnom Penh in Cambodia, taking in the life along the riverbanks.
• Stood in awe at some of the world’s most iconic wonders—Angkor Wat, Machu Picchu, and the Taj Mahal—each a unique and breathtaking experience.
• Taught English to children in Thailand and Vietnam through Workaway, a heartwarming way to give back while traveling.

What I Can Share with Hosts

As a guest, I love to share my travel stories and learn from yours! I can offer great conversations, and if you enjoy music, I can even play some songs on the guitar. I’m also more than happy to cook a simple dish or help out around the house. Most of all, I bring positive vibes and a sense of adventure!
