CURRENT MISSION

Since the end of 2019, I’ve been back home in Bogotá, Colombia, after spending 12 years living abroad. Right now, I work for the City Hall of Bogotá in the Office for Peace, Victims, and Reconciliation, focusing on helping conflict victims, former combatants, and civil society participate in restorative initiatives tied to the Peace Agreement with the FARC guerrilla. This agreement ended over 50 years of armed conflict and created a system of transitional justice to ensure accountability, truth, reparations, and reconciliation. My role is deeply connected with restorative justice, which is all about dialogue, repair, and rebuilding relationships in communities affected by violence.

I’ve also got a Master’s in NGO Management, and I’m currently studying a Master’s in Restorative Practices through the International Institute for Restorative Practices (IIRP) in the U.S. (https://www.iirp.edu/). Over the last few years, I’ve been especially focused on restorative practices in the juvenile criminal system, helping young people repair the harm they’ve caused. Although I no longer work directly in that system, I continue implementing restorative practices in schools through Human Partner, an organization that works on strengthening community life, promoting nonviolence, and fostering peacebuilding. One of the key moments of my career was when I trained with Kay Pranis, who came to Colombia in 2023 to teach us how to facilitate peace circles. It had a big impact on me, and later in 2024, I was lucky enough to share a conference with her in New York where we discussed restorative practices in Colombia. Before all this, I spent three years in France. I started in Toulouse, where I spent four months learning French and falling in love with the city. Then I moved to Paris to develop my startup, Bagshare Social, the first social crowd-shipping platform that connected travelers with social causes. It was inspired by Couchsurfing’s idea of sharing. Unfortunately, we couldn’t make it past three years, like most startups, but it was an amazing learning experience and I met incredible people from all over the world.

Before France, I lived in Buenos Aires for seven years. I worked with different non-profit organizations and volunteered with Voluntarios Sin Fronteras ([www.voluntariossf.org.ar](http://www.voluntariossf.org.ar)), while completing my first Master’s degree in NGO Management. During my last three years there, I also worked as a bartender for RF, the top mobile bar company in Argentina ([www.ramiroferreri.com](http://www.ramiroferreri.com)), while studying theater acting.

Desde finales de 2019, volví a Bogotá, Colombia, después de vivir en el extranjero durante 12 años. Actualmente trabajo para la Alcaldía de Bogotá en la Oficina de Paz, Víctimas y Reconciliación, donde me enfoco en ayudar a las víctimas del conflicto, excombatientes y la sociedad civil a participar en iniciativas restaurativas relacionadas con el Acuerdo de Paz con las FARC. Este acuerdo puso fin a más de 50 años de conflicto armado y creó un sistema de justicia transicional para garantizar la rendición de cuentas, la verdad, las reparaciones y la reconciliación. Mi trabajo está muy relacionado con la justicia restaurativa, que se centra en el diálogo, la reparación y la reconstrucción de relaciones en las comunidades afectadas por la violencia.

Tengo una Maestría en Gestión y Dirección de ONGs y actualmente estudio una Maestría en Prácticas Restaurativas a través del Instituto Internacional de Prácticas Restaurativas (IIRP) en Estados Unidos (https://www.iirp.edu/). En los últimos años, me he concentrado especialmente en las prácticas restaurativas dentro del sistema penal juvenil, ayudando a los jóvenes a reparar el daño que han causado. Aunque ya no trabajo directamente en ese sistema, sigo implementando prácticas restaurativas en escuelas a través de Human Partner, una organización que trabaja en fortalecer la vida comunitaria, promover la no violencia y fomentar la construcción de paz. Uno de los momentos más importantes de mi carrera fue cuando me entrené con Kay Pranis, quien vino a Colombia en 2023 para enseñarnos cómo facilitar círculos de paz. Fue una experiencia que tuvo un gran impacto en mí y, en 2024, tuve la suerte de compartir una conferencia con ella en Nueva York, donde discutimos las prácticas restaurativas que se están implementando en Colombia. Antes de todo esto, viví tres años en Francia. Empecé en Toulouse, donde pasé cuatro meses aprendiendo francés y enamorándome de la ciudad. Luego me mudé a París para desarrollar mi startup, Bagshare Social, la primera plataforma de crowdshipping social que conectaba viajeros con causas sociales. Estaba inspirada en el concepto de compartir de Couchsurfing. Lamentablemente, no sobrevivimos más de tres años, como la mayoría de las startups, pero fue una experiencia increíblemente enriquecedora y conocí a personas maravillosas de todo el mundo.

Antes de Francia, viví siete años en Buenos Aires. Trabajé en varias organizaciones sin fines de lucro y me voluntarié en Voluntarios Sin Fronteras ([www.voluntariossf.org.ar](http://www.voluntariossf.org.ar)), mientras terminaba mi primera Maestría en Gestión y Dirección de ONGs. Music, Movies, and Books

Books: I don't have a favourite book but I find very inspiring Siddhartha written by Herman Hesse, it is about the life of Buddha, is very short and easy to read but at the same time it contains a lot of wisdom.

Recently I found The Celestine Prophecy by James Redfield which can be lifechanging, but it depends of your reading taste.

Movies: I love many, but Brazil from Terry Gilliam is a classic I specially remember and every time I watch it again I find new elements... Some others are Memento, all the Stanley Kubrick and Chaplin stuff and many lifechanging documentaries like On Quête de Sens, Love Thy Nature (you can watch it for free in HD here www.uplift.tv) or Supersize Me... But also the sagas of The Lord of the Rings and Star Wars which brings you to endless worlds :D

Music: I enjoy many kinds of music, but the African rithms or the music with African roots are my favourite, specially the Salsa and the RAP.

Libros: No tengo un libro favorito, pero encuentro en Siddhartha de Herman Hesse mucha inspiración, habla sobre la vida del Buddha, es muy corto y fácil de leer pero al mismo tiempo contiene mucha sabiduría.

Recientemente encontré La Novena Profecía de James Redfield que puede cambiarte la vida, pero depende mucho de tu gusto de lectura.

Películas: Me gustan muchas, pero Brazil de Terry Gilliam es un clásico que recuerdo especialmente y que cada vez que veo me hace encontrar nuevos elementos. Otras que me gustaron son Memento, todo lo de Stanley Kubrick y Chaplin y muchos documentales que te pueden cambiar la vida como On Quête de Sens que tiene versión gratuita en HD con mil subtítulos online, Love Thy Nature (puedes verla gratis en HD acá www.uplift.tv) ó Supersize Me... One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Skydiving, I just did it once but I think I found a new passion in my life. I wish I could do it every week and I know someday I'll find a way of doing it 😉
