ABOUT ME

Hey! Dane and Gwen here! Basically, I'm a student, a boyfriend, and a proud uncle. I love traveling and can't wait to do more. My girlfriend Gwen and I want to go to China, Japan, and Thailand badly to visit some exchange students that we've hosted. We've been together for almost five years now and both like good music (The Format, Against Me, Hockey, Sublime, Bjork, Cash...), art, coffee, photography, and more. I have a huge family and my three older sisters are all married. I've lived all over, going to school and helping to raise my beautiful niece Bailey. I like games, skateboarding, pretending to play guitar, laughing at my girlfriend when she gets goofy...We watch too many movies, read literature together, and like being superstitious.

PHILOSOPHY

I've gone through some pretty weird phases in life and even had trouble being exactly who I know I want to be, but I'm just glad to be. I believe in acceptance and a non-confrontational approach to everything. I'm the kind of person to try to diffuse tension at all costs, and not the kind of person who is able to type everthing I think about life in a paragraph like this. Basically, I think that as long as you are secure, open minded, and keep just enough to yourself to mantain personal identity, you'll be just fine. I do love to sit and talk about philosophy though, especially when you find the kind of people who naturally engage you...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We learned about CouchSurfing last year and got the chance to stay with Jesse Fenton in Boston. Despite the open ended offer in little old Spokane Washington, we haven't had any surfing requests yet. Drop me a line and I'll be sure to participate in the CS project in whatever way that I can :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have only had one experience, which was extremely positive, with couchsurfing so far, but my girlfriend and I are totally charismatic, love meeting new people, and have surfed a lot of couches through making close personal friends in Germany, Ireland, and England.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hmm...We are always trying to see and do a lot...Some of our most memorable moments are seeing a ton of bats flying around the gothic Carbisdale castle in Scotland, Hiking around the highlands, Climbing Half-Dome in Yosemite, Zip Lining in Costa Rica, Seeing cave-dwelling glow worms in New Zealand, Snorkeling in the Caribbean, Trying Kava in Fiji etc...
