Overview
About Me
I’m originally from Atlanta, Georgia (USA), and I relocated to the Midwest in 2022 for a job opportunity. And also just for a completely new and different environment, upon first deciding to stretch out of my comfort zone and become a bit of an explorer/adventurer, after the conclusion of a long-term relationship. My intention is to experience other parts of the country and globe, beyond the places I’ve already lived and visited. And to do so in a more immersive way so as to truly learn about, gain a deeper understanding of, and be inspired by other cultures, values, belief systems, and ways of seeing the world.
I’m a very adventurous and fun-loving person, and enjoy letting my inner child come out and play from time to time! ☺️ I hope to become more active in present day than I have been in recent years. But when able to, I love doing activities like: biking, skating, playing tennis (I’m still a novice), playing table tennis/ping-pong, swimming, boating, traveling, going on road trips, whitewater rafting, kayaking, tubing, horseback riding, indoor rock wall climbing, gym workouts, group fitness classes, aerobic dance and hip-hop dance classes, cabin getaways, wine tastings, visiting resorts, going to movies/stage plays/live comedy shows, trying a variety of ethnic cuisines, and attending outdoor festivals/concerts/fairs.
As a guest, I am respectful, cleanly, quiet (with regard to noisiness in the home, not meaning conversationally), pretty chill and low-key, and try to be considerate of your home and any house rules you may have. I’m more of an introvert than extrovert, but am still fairly sociable and comfortable interacting, chit-chatting, and possibly doing something fun, active, and/or memorable with my Couchsurfing hosts, if desired 🙂 And I deeply appreciate 🙏🏽 kind, welcoming, hospitable, and easy-going Couchsurfing hosts and cleanly home environments.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am venturing further west, on to a different state, with Utah as the state that I’m relocating to at this time 🚗 So I’ll be roadtripping there, making stops in cities that I’m curious about and would like to see the sights in — when Couchsurfing host, or other affordably priced accommodations are available, as I have a modest relocation budget. And I may also desire to do some Couchsurfing upon my Initial arrival to Utah, as well.
I’m excited to begin this new chapter of my life at this time. And looking forward to seeing and exploring Utah’s beauty and majestic mountain ranges, national parks, varying terrain, and unique wildlife! (As, for the past three years here in Minnesota, it’s been primarily plains/flat lands, rural farm land, deer, and birds, hehe. Plus, lots of beautiful rivers and lakes, gorgeous fall foliage, and picturesque winterscapes, I must add!) And I’m also looking forward to meeting and interacting with such well-traveled and kindhearted hosts, as are on platforms such as Couchsurfing! 😊

Music, Movies, and Books
I love self-help and faith-based books, and am trying to also get back into fiction and love stories. I enjoy a wide range of music, but especially: R and B (“rhythm and blues”), neo-soul, hip-hop, pop, gospel, and contemporary Christian music. And I’m open to watching most types of movies, especially comedies, rom-coms, romance/love stories, family friendly/kids movies, sci-fi and futuristic (i.e. aliens, space travel, artificial intelligence/AI, robots, etc.), mind-benders (like about time travel, parallel universes/alternate realities, etc.), documentaries (i.e. biographical, historical, and exposé), foreign films requiring subtitles (especially Korean, Bollywood, and French films), and also dystopian films.
I’ll sometimes watch an action flick, a thriller, suspense, or a mystery movie. However, I don’t watch horror films; especially gruesome or sadistic ones. And I don’t enjoy watching films that include witchcraft, sorcery, spell casting, or that are very demonic.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
1️⃣ I was a UH-60 Black Hawk Helicopter Mechanic (15T MOS) in the Georgia Army National Guard for six years.
2️⃣ And I’ve visited and/or lived in 23 U.S. states and 3 other countries.
Teach, Learn, Share
I’d be open to learning a wide variety of things from hosts and any other house members or guests. And I would also be open to doing fun indoor or outside-the-home activities together (that were free or reasonably priced), though there’s zero pressure or expectation of such. But having opportunities to learn more about: homesteading, raising livestock on a small farm, caring for horses or llamas, going hiking, or doing fun recreation (like ATV/dirt bike riding or indoor rock wall climbing) would all be Especially cool and interesting, if I had the opportunity to!
And hosts are welcome to request any specific help that would be most appreciated or beneficial during my stay. But as some possible ideas, I could perhaps teach hosts some new recipes, help out in the kitchen (with meal prep and/or after-dinner clean up) for any shared meals, share insights with regards to natural medicine and natural health remedies (which is a passion and calling of mine), and I’m pretty good with pets and animals if some help/care/play/walking was needed with them. I could also possibly provide homework help for elementary-age children in the home, or reading skills or essay writing assistance for older-aged children, as I worked as a private one-on-one Academic Tutor for tutoring agencies in Atlanta for a few years.
