Overview
About Me
Hi! I’m Danny, 31, from the Netherlands.
I’ve worked for many years in hospitality and I still carry that same spirit of connection and openness with me. These days I’m more settled, focusing on personal growth, meaningful work and good conversations.
I get a lot of energy from meeting new people and hearing their stories. I’m calm, social, and down-to-earth. I enjoy both deep and light-hearted talks, preferably over coffee, good food, or a walk in nature.
If you’re looking for a place to stay or just someone to share a conversation with, feel free to reach out.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I joined Couchsurfing because I believe the best part of travel is the people you meet along the way. I love hearing stories from different cultures, sharing experiences, and discovering the world through someone else’s eyes.
After years of working in hospitality and recently traveling through Asia, I’m now settling down in IJmuiden, a quiet town by the sea in the Netherlands. I’ll soon have a spare room and I’m looking forward to hosting travelers, offering them a warm place to stay, and hopefully sharing good conversations, local tips, and maybe a meal or a walk along the beach.
Whether you’re passing through or staying a bit longer, I’d love to connect and hear your story.

Music, Movies, and Books
I enjoy all kinds of music — it really depends on what I’m doing and how I feel. Whether it’s energetic beats to start the day, chill background tunes while I work or reflect, or 80’s and 90’s classics to sing along to — I’m in.
When it comes to books, I’m drawn to anything related to personal growth, mindset, and understanding human behavior. I love reading things that challenge my perspective or help me grow.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When I was 21, I sold everything I owned and booked a one-way ticket to Australia. No plan, no safety net — just the desire to explore, grow, and trust life. It turned out to be one of the most transformative experiences of my life.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach:
I’d love to share what I know about hospitality, coaching, mindset, and how to stay calm and grounded in chaotic situations — something I’ve learned through years of experience (and a few life lessons). I can also teach you some basic Dutch words or how to make great coffee 😉
Learn:
I’m always curious to learn more about local cultures, daily life, and personal stories. I’d especially love to learn how to cook authentic dishes from your country. show me your kitchen, and I’ll bring the curiosity!
Share:
I believe in open-hearted conversations, good food, and making someone’s day a little better. I’m happy to share my time, my story, a listening ear, and maybe a meal or two.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Once I’m settled in IJmuiden, I’ll have a cozy private room available for surfers. My place is close to the beach and the dunes, perfect for peaceful walks, sunsets, and getting a breath of fresh sea air.
As a former hospitality manager turned coach, I love creating a warm and relaxed atmosphere where people feel welcome. I enjoy cooking (nothing fancy, but always with love), and I’d be happy to share a meal or a good conversation over coffee or tea.
I can show you around the area, give tips for exploring the Dutch coast, or simply offer a calm place to recharge. Whether you're looking for connection or just a quiet place to rest, you're very welcome here.
