About Me

CURRENT MISSION

having a ridiculous amount of fun every day

ABOUT ME

I have a real person job which is...whatever.

I got involved with couchsurfing when two of my friends and I spent a year doing the "Great American Road Trip," which makes my travels seem woefully cliche even though they were amazing and life changing and I wish for everybody to have that kind of experience at some point (if not multiple points) in their lives.

PHILOSOPHY

Don't be afraid to be bad at things.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

For a long time I participated as a surfer and stayed with awesome hosts. Now, I look forward to being an awesome host!

I also seriously value the networking and connection-forming aspect of this project; I see it less as a free place to sleep and more as a chance to make new friends I would not have encountered otherwise.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My favorite couchsurfing experiences have been the ones where the host made not just their couch feel like home but the whole CITY feel like home.

Interests

slacklining, freestyle rapping, playing music (badly), reading, drinking beer, things that are free, the internet, hiking, camping, climbing (or trying to), discussing, learning new things, writing, having new experiences so I can write about them, thinking, getting good gas mileage, meeting new people, going with the flow

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I could give you a laundry list of breathtaking sunrises/sunsets I've seen (man, am I a sucker for the sun crossing the horizon) but the things that amazed me most were the times I showed up in a unknown city without a plan and everything *just worked out*....you know?

Teach, Learn, Share

I know a lot about science & creative writing (but have yet to successfully marry them together), can solve a Rubik's Cube, give great motivational speeches
