Overview
About Me
Mid 50’s, no kids and no pets (thanks to asthma - I love cats and dogs, I just can't live with them). Recently moved back to Ontario where I've lived most of my life after 5 incredible years in Vancouver, BC. I enjoy bicycling; it's good exercise and you notice more of your surroundings than when driving. My taste in both music and movies tends to deviate from the beaten path. "All Borders Are Porous to Cats" according to The World/Inferno Friendship Society... I like road tripping whenever I get a chance (which isn't nearly often enough!) and exploring other cities, especially those with a music scene. In the past decade I've been lucky enough to turn a lifelong radio hobby into a professional (technical) career.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
As a surfer, it's far less expensive than a hotel, and always more interesting when your guests or hosts are other exploration minded people. As a host it's great to meet other seekers from near and far, help them to find what they're seeking here - especially where it involves food, live music or cycling.

Music, Movies, and Books
I don't care for musical or cinematic cliches. That said, I pretty much like any musical genre, even mainstream ones as long as they aren't overloaded w/ cliches - unless the cliches come up in some ironic way, intentional or not :-P The comedy stylings of Patton Oswalt and Neil Hamburger are favourites of mine.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I don't know how "amazing" this is, but I once drove from Monticello, Maine through New Brunswick, Quebec through a blizzard, and through eastern Ontario all the way to Toronto in a single 14 hour stretch, stopping only for gas. Hey, I was impressed at the time (and extremely exhausted).
What I Can Share with Hosts
An interest in hearing about your travels, a perspective of east-central Canada and the northeastern US as one who has lived here most of my life. I can help you find what you're looking for in Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, Detroit, Cleveland or Niagara as I'm quite familiar with with these places. You are welcome to use my kitchen, comfortable queen-sized air mattress, TV/wifi and bathroom of course. Make yourself at home and explore the other London! We'll need to arrange times of your coming and going from my apartment as I don't have spare keys. I can host most weekends to a maximum of 4 days. I prefer not to host during my work week, but I'm willing to discuss an *occasional* exception to this on a case-by-case basis.
Countries I’ve Visited
Argentina, Mexico, United States, Uruguay
