About Me

Last updated: March 3rd, 2026

CURRENT MISSION

Continue to contribute to CS, & explore my love for life, the world, its people, and their culture! (…and hopefully share a little of my/our own too!)

TO TRAVELERS: (ABOUT ME/MY SPACE)

As a Hostel owner for 17 years now, obviously the business depends on paying customers. Evidently, we’re not always full, so I’d like to be able to give back to the CS community a little bit without ‘hurting’ business too much. I haven’t really done this in the past because of how delicate it is, but I’d like to give it a try to help the community. As such, my thought was to offer a (free) night’s stay to CSers.

The first question almost everyone has is “what’s the name of your Hostel”, so to kill two birds with one stone: If you’d like to help return the favor (and make everything easier for me) you can make a 1-night booking for the cheapest dorm on Hostelworld (should only cost 1-2 USD) and I will zero-out the balance due to the reservation.

Note: this is by no means obligatory, but appreciated if you’re ok with it, and I’m happy to compensate you for the 1-2 USD with some free drinks. I actually have two Hostel brands in Cancun, so you’re welcome to book at either one: Hostel Ka’beh & the Fiesta Party Hostel.

All of this is a delicate balance to strike, but hopefully it makes sense, is enjoyed, and helps people out. =)

I travel a lot, and since the business has been open for so long, I’m almost never on-site, but my team has always been welcoming, and the Hostel has always been known for being an incredibly social place for solo travelers, which is why I want to share what I’ve built with the CS community.

Given this, one of the advantages of hosting via my hostel is that I’m happy to accept just about anyone; just know you’ll be staying in a bed in a mixed, shared dorm. Another advantage is that I can receive last-min requests without a problem since the Hostel’s reception is open 24/7. We’re also super well-located in a safe part of the city, and easy to get to with public transportation.

Lastly, I’m also an active member in the local Cancun Couch Surfing community, so if you’d like to be introduced/added to the WhatsApp chat, I’d be happy to help with that.

Now, ABOUT ME personally:
I'm an observer, and always try to learn new things from the world around me to improve on myself and those around me (I'm something of an idealist).

I'm a work-a-holic, a perfectionist, an over achiever, recently diagnosed ADHD, Sailor, martial artist, multi-tasker (I do way too many things at the same time...), and a jack of all trades. I also love cats. ^.^

I enjoy the little things in life. I love grocery shopping, and can spend HOURS doing this. I love people watching, exploring new cities, photography, exercise, needing out on currencies, flags, and more.

I love SLOW TRAVELING! Traveling to me is an amazing adventure, but it's something I like to take my time enjoying. I appreciate getting a feel for what it’s like to really live in some of the places I visit... at least for a little bit. Generally I avoid staying in a city for just one or two days unless I'm really just on a layover.

-> I HATE flying. No, not because I have a fear of flying, but because making it to a flight on time is the single most stressful thing for me.... I've already missed more flights than I can count, and in every way you could possibly imagine. >.< Funny, after the fact, but Not cool. 🤣

TO HOSTS: I am house trained! I shower, I put the seat down, I cook, I clean after myself, I bring my own food (and share!). If there's anything I can do to help you, I'll try to do it, but either way, I'll try to stay out of your way. The last thing I want to be for you is a hassle or a burden! I put headphones on and can listen to music when I go to sleep, so you don't have to worry about bothering me when I'm sleeping. I can sleep anywhere, and at any time! I feel like I've written this somewhere else already, but just in case: Proof of me sleeping anywhere on any surface is in my pics, go take a look! =P

PHILOSOPHY

"Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away."

"El que quiere, puede." (Similar to: "Where there's a will, there's a way")

"El interés tiene pies" (Similar to: "Actions speak louder than words. Don't say it, just do it.")

If he/you/she can do it, so can you/I.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I try to go to meetings when I travel, I host meetings when I'm not traveling, and I’d like to be vale to host more travers at my Hostel. I've found myself traveling much more than I expected... so I haven't really had my own place to offer, on top of the fact that staying at a Hostel is just so much more convenient for you as a traveler: accesible, great location, all the info you’d need, and more.

I also meet people from all over the world all the time, and do my best to spread the good word about CS!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I was introduced to couch surfing quite while ago... It took me some time to get involved, but that's changed now! I've met lots of people through CS, and I plan on meeting many more! So far every encounter has been one of warmth, welcome, fun, and understanding. It's definitely a unique way to live & travel!

Teach, Learn, Share

I want to Sail as much as possible! I'd love to teach anyone how to sail. Get me a boat and some water and I'm in!

I'd love to train with anyone that does any martial arts, and learn from cello players. I'd also enjoy the opportunity to spend some time learning any languages you speak that I don't, and would be more than willing to help you learn anything about the languages I do speak.

Food is also great, if you can cook something regional, teach me! Unfortunately I suck a memorizing things... so I can teach you how to feel things out. I cook with creativity, not recipes... More often than not, things come out pretty well! I do make an awesome guacamole though 🙌
