ABOUT ME
Hi! I am a 40 years old human rights lawyer and academic. I have been involved in activism, have worked in areas revolving around the rights of HIV survivors and sexual minorities. A lover of animals, art, and life, I also happen to like humans :-D...
Based in Johannesburg, currently at the family home in Kolkata, but can still host!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Met some amazing people! I think it is quite the best way to travel :). It gives a community feeling like no other. My husband and I met on Couchsurfing in 2011. He surfed with me in Calcutta, India, and within the next year, we were already living together. It is strange how like-minded people come together through this platform!
Recently, a couchsurfer who I met in 2014 - I was his first host ever - came to meet me in Kolkata and stayed with me 10 years after we first met. We have become friends over the years, and it just goes to show what a brilliant community building agency this is.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
It ALL happened in Prague!
Walking down the streets of Prague, I just heard Dvorak wafting through the air, and noticed that it came from a picturesque little house - and then I learnt it was Dvorak's house!
Standing in front of his grave at St. Peter's and St. Pauls, there was a sudden cool breeze, and clock struck 4 pm - and then the bells started chiming to Dvorak's hymns! It was MAGICAL!
Later that night, a friend gave a private piano recital in the NYU campus exactly at midnight, with the astronomical clock going off in the background, along with the other churches. It was MARVELOUS!
Teach, Learn, Share
Would love to connect with more Lusofone people and practice my Portuguese!
What I Can Share with Hosts
Other than my space, I can share more about the culture I grew up in, more about the city we are in (wherever we meet), make time to go out together and see the city, cook together, go to my favourite coffee joints.
