HI! I'm Declan!

I’ve been involved in the Couchsurfing community for over 10 years. I used to run the majority of the events in Melbourne on Couchsurfing, and I hosted for two years when I was living in a share house with our spare room! I also became the ambassador for quite some time in Melbourne, and I’m passionate about building a community that can thrive and help others that are new here 😊

I believe strongly in the CS community and speak highly of the system, the values of CS and the skills of how to surf safely. my events had helped me grow friendships all around the world, and now I’m finally travelling this year. I hope to see all of the over 300 friends that I’ve made over the last 10 years!

Now to myself! I'm a fun, happy and energetic individual always looking to meet new people. Being friendly and easy to talk to is my best trait, I’ve worked in management, hospitality, and retail over the last 12 years and communication has always been my strong point especially with complete strangers ha ha

If you meet me, you'll be sure to have a friend for life. I make an effort to keep in touch with all my international friends!

PHILOSOPHY

My philosophy is simple, you can never have enough friends. Friends mean everything to me and i always treasure them through thick and thin. I am always there for people and if you are ever in trouble in Melbourne, I’ll be there to help.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING:

- I love hosting people and being a tour guide around the beautiful city of Melbourne.
- I've hosted over 200 people over the time I've been in CS, funny enough, most have been friends of my surfers that i met through CS. (Hence the limited references!)
- I used to run the Majority of the CS events in Melbourne, and had been keeping the community strong over the years

I will share with you My life. Yes that's right. My Life. I share my life with others, especially my surfers.

That was the original idea of Couch surfing, and i try and keep it that way.
It's now been turned into a "free place to stay", which is not what it is. Please read this carefully, if you wish to be hosted by me, i'll make it a memorable visit and go to my best efforts to accommodate you and even show you around the city. If you are just after a free place, please do not bother sending me a request.

I love watching movies, but i don't have a particular style that i like the most. so i'll just say I love ALL movies!
Books, honestly i don't read much, but when i do it's mostly travel magazines to gather places that i would like to visit in the future.
