About Me

Make the most of this one life I have :)

I have lived in Townsville for 28 years. Love to travel as we all do in the Couchsurfing world. I like to think of myself as easy-going, open minded and friendly. If you think otherwise then.......get out of my house!!!! hahaha....kidding of course ;)

You are a product of your life so far, what you choose next will determine where you will be in the future. Don't die wondering. Treat others how you want to be treated. Don't rely on other people to make things happen, make it happen yourself! Life is too short to be mad, hold grudges, get angry and stress...chill out and live long and happy! Be a good person.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

I host when I can. Have moved into a share house with my daughter and two other couchsurfing friends so now we have a real CS house. I work out of town so don't get to meet as many people as I would like. I like to catch up with other people from CS when travelling.

Many many great experiences and adventures and lots of room for more. Never had a negative experience.

Everything and everyone. I am not the kind of person that limits 'interests' to a list because my list will be never ending. Always keen to learn and experience anything new.

Music, Movies & Books

I will just about watch, listen to or read anything if you tell me it is worth doing.
Give me a cookbook or a travel guide or a hiking map and I'm happy :-)
Have recently enjoyed the travel writings of Bill Bryson and Brian Thacker. Matthew Reilly & Andy McDermott novels are the best if you like action books.
The Way is a great movie if you know about the Camino pilgrimage in Spain. Have a tendancy to play a lot of 80's rock music but will listen to just about anything.

One Amazing Thing I've Done

Lots of amazing experiences. But then again I consider sometimes very simple things amazing....like shopping for groceries in a supermarket in Spain or singing Kareoke with my phillipino friends in the backstreets of El Nido. Every day brings a new amazing experience. They are all just as valuable to me. Managed to get to Everest Base Camp in 2013. It was hard work but worth it in the end to stand beside the top of the world. Met lots of amazing people on the way.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am the kind of person who is good at everything but expert at nothing so my knowledge may be limited but diverse....if that makes sense. I am always willing to share everything and if I can teach you anything new then I am more than happy to do so.

Countries I've Visited

Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, China, France, Italy, Nepal, New Zealand, Philippines, Spain, Switzerland, United States
