Chi sono

Hi! I’m Deepak, a passionate traveler from a small village in Tamil Nadu, India. Coming from a farming family, I’ve always valued simplicity and the beauty of life’s little moments. By profession, I’m an MBA student at IIT Madras, a finance enthusiast, and a lifelong learner. I balance my academic and professional pursuits with my love for exploration.

Traveling, for me, is more than just visiting places; it’s about meeting people, experiencing cultures, and creating meaningful connections. I enjoy striking up conversations with strangers, sharing stories, and learning about different ways of life. I’m someone who believes in giving back, and one of my hobbies is mentoring village kids in their education.

When I’m not traveling or studying, you can find me indulging in my other passion—digging into books—or experimenting with new cuisines. I’m easy-going, open-minded, and always up for a good laugh!

Perché sono iscritto su Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing, for me, is an incredible way to experience the world through the eyes of locals. Traveling isn’t just about sightseeing; it’s about immersing myself in the culture, traditions, and daily lives of the people who call these places home. CouchSurfing provides that unique opportunity, and I’d love to be a part of this global community.

I believe every traveller has a story to share, and every host has a world to offer. I want to meet people who are passionate about their cities, who can introduce me to the hidden gems that tourists often miss, and who are willing to share their perspectives on life. In turn, I’d love to share my experiences from my travels, stories from my rural upbringing, and my insights into finance and investing (if that’s something you’re curious about!).

The idea of cultural exchange is at the heart of why I’m here. Staying with locals creates authentic travel experiences, and it’s also a way to make lifelong friends. It’s not just about saving money; it’s about building connections and being part of a global family. I hope to leave every place not just with great memories but also with the warmth of new friendships.

Una cosa incredibile che ho fatto

One of the most fulfilling experiences in my life has been mentoring children in my village. For the past three years, I’ve guided young minds, helping them discover opportunities in education and life that they might not have known about otherwise.

These kids come from humble backgrounds, and their aspirations often need a spark to ignite. I’ve helped them explore scholarships, choose career paths, and believe in their potential. Seeing them excel and gain confidence has been one of the most rewarding things I’ve done.

This initiative has also taught me the power of small actions. What started as a simple idea to help a few kids turned into something bigger—changing lives and fostering hope. It’s reminded me that the world is full of opportunities, but sometimes people need someone to guide them toward the door.
