July 2025 : our kids are back ! We enjoy full family holidays ;)
Mai 2025 : our son is also in Germany for a short stay
Septembre 2024 : our daughter is away for 1 year in Germany. We have one more room left ;)
Septembre 2023 : we host a young girl from Czech Republic for 3 months so fully booked by us !
July 2023 : start to turn some space into a guest room (except the roof, windows, we do it ourselves !)
August 2020 : moved in our new house in Beaugency
In September 2019 : start full time job again !
End July - August 2019 :time off / no hosting

Since February 2019 (6 month break) It's time for gardening, sewing (Delphine), welding (Guillaume) and spending time with Anaëlle and Bastien.

August 2018 : Mission accomplished ! Back from our trip !

PROJECT 2018
We are going to take a 6-month professionnal break from February 2018 to August 2018 (we can't host during this period of course). We will travel through Europe with our kids, travelling by train and on foot. We will meet people by CS website and also by helpX/workaway community.

ABOUT US

We live in the countryside on the Loire Valley borders. We have two teenagers. Happy and proud to have seen them growing up. They became well balanced pre-adults.
Sharing new experiences is what we do all week with our pupils by both teaching mathematics (Delphine : teens from 15 to 18 and Guillaume : kids from 12 to 14)

sep 2013 : 1 year already ! around 20000 liters of water saved
april2014 : we definitely adopted it !
april 2015 : our toilets are great ! we use our own compost....gorgeous tomatoes to come ;)
june 2016 : definitely approved by the family
july 2017 : we sold our dishwater (now people tell us :"you spent more water by doing it manually!" "No way, we're doing it in a wild-camping mode so few water at all" and have you thought about energy and material needed to build it ?)
august 2017 : electromagnetic wave house cleaning
(no more microwave, induction range) - of course our mobile phone (we only have one) is switched off most of the time

DIY and Low-tech corner :
- The water from rinse sink in kitchen is collected for flushing the toilets (see below).
- 3D printing of a bracket for a microswitch to get the high level in the toilet watertank. A simple 12V pump in the garage brings water up when microswitch is closed. The tank in the garage is filled with rinse water or rainwater.

We are interested in bees. We have 4 Warré beehives and Guillaume has built a low cost bee hive (TBH). It is so nicely done that bees came alone inside ;)
