My first interaction with the website Couchsurfing was through a childhood friend of mine:
We went to Austria for a spontaneous weekend trip and I had such a wonderful experience meeting so many friendly new people that I could never get over what an incredible experience we've both had just because of this website.

And now that I have my own place and a couch I want to give back to the community
