My name is Gerrit, currently living in Nürnberg, Bavaria-Germany. We (my partner Lisa and myself) lived here for the last 5 years, after meeting while traveling through Australia. We started our life together, here in Nürnberg in November 2012. We both worked here, Lisa as a ballet teacher in a RAD School, I did a few jobs, worked as a Sozial Worker.

Back then we agreed, that one day, we'd move to Belgium and check out how that would suit us. Since we're doin' that right now (boxing and storing our stuff) we thought it would be cool to take a gab year and start traveling again.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We heard from friends, who travelled through South America extensively, they used Couchsurfing quit a lot and were really excited about it. My account is about 8 years old, still I havent really used it since then. The plan is to change that in the current future.

A common interest of us is Food. We both like to cook around, try different cuisines and do this without using any Animal products. We're living Vegan for about 2 Years now and are still really excited and convinced about our choice.

We are wondering what kinds of food we're gonna get on the South American continent...
In Germany, living as a vegan, is pretty simple. Their are organic supermarkets all over the country, which offer a very wide and good range of alternative products.

Furthermore, we like nature, walks, swims and meeting up with nice folks :)

Travelling for longer periods of time is something we both like, haven't done in a while either. That's why we're really excited to go out there again, throwing ourselves in the unknown ;)

Music genres would be the easiest way to describe what kind of stuff I listen to: Psychedelic/progressive/noise/alternative/experimental Rock, hiphop, new wave, krautrock, grunge,...
Since Lisa is a ballet teacher, she's more fund off classical music. I think I can categorize her as a 'I listen to everything that sounds good' kinda person.

We watch(ed) lots of movies, especially during the winter months. The last movie we watched was 'Lion', wich we really enjoyed.

For our trip, we treated our selfs on a Kindle Ebook, hooray!

For me personally, it was leaving Belgium in 2011 for some travelling through New Zealand and Australia. Things really changed after that, especially since I got to know Lisa and moved to Germany with her.

Things we've done together and were pretty cool: travelling througout Australia and Europe and the different hikes we did the last few years.
