About Me
Hello, Couchsurfers!
My name is Dimitrios and I come from Euboea: the second largest of the Greek islands.
My first book - and my spelling book for that matter - was the World Atlas. I literally learned how to read on it.
Since that time I first remember myself, my dream was to travel around the world. I consider myself a very lucky man for having managed to turn my childhood’s dream into my everyday reality. I started to travel at very early age and have continued to be doing so pretty much constantly ever since in many exotic and remote corners of this planet. I will not hide that I still daydream on a daily basis about traveling to Mars and whatever other eerie locality of the cold, uncanny space that surrounds us. I’m pretty positive that I will indeed do so someday; especially given that one of my other big dreams is to live indefinitely.
I am particularly in love with nature and wild outdoors adventures. I prefer to travel overland and by means of biological power alone, like in trekking, cycling or canoeing. Mountains is probably what I love the most and I have climbed arrays of them around the continents. I very much enjoy spending long periods of time completely withdrawn from civilization, in utter solitude, which I have found to be presenting an ideal occasion to become acquainted with the profound essence of the world and one’s self.
In spite of occasionally indulging in isolation, I’m far from being antisocial or introvert. I totally love to be spending time with interesting people and I’m endlessly thankful to all of them I have met throughout the years and around the world for the so valuable inspiration they have given me access to.
Owing to to my affinity for travels, Couchsurfing drew my attention directly when I first became aware of it. And I have been an active member of this beautiful community since its early days. I’m earnestly looking forward to meeting the ones of you I’m destined to cross paths with.
Other than traveling and learning, the other major reason that makes me keen to be living is to create. I consider myself a highly creative person. I adore the process of giving substance to ideas, be it by whatever means possible. My preferred creativity outlet is writing. I so far have written one book which narrates my adventures during an overland trip from Cape Town to Tel Aviv, and tons of short stories, articles, and poems on my adventures around the world and a great variety of other topics. Apart from writing, I also get very busy with photography and composing music in order to satisfy my creativity. In case you are interested, you may check out my work on my blog: https://theblogofdimi.com
While situated in Athens, I occasionally organize affordable hiking and driving tours to the countryside. Let me know if this is something you’re looking for, and I can plan some unforgettable experience for you.
Cheers!

Interests
Interested in, or at least curious about, everything.
Getting habitually busy with: reading, writing, playing/listening to music, walking, exploring/discovering, communicating with nature, conversing, playing chess, eating (well), sleeping (well), drinking, smoking, thinking/contemplating, creating/destroying, being/feeling alive, doing whatever I may be feeling like doing...
Music, Movies, and Books
Great diversity. Always eager for exploring and experimenting with new ideas.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Uncountable.
Teach, Learn, Share
Whatever...
Keep exchanging information/knowledge.
Let education be gratis.
