A moment that changed my life

One night I had a dream…
But not just any dream — I saw myself old, sitting in a cozy chair, surrounded by my grandchildren.
They looked at me with wide eyes and said,
"Grandpa, tell us an exciting story from your youth!"🙃

I smiled gently and began to speak…
"Well, I once had a dream to travel the world… to explore new cultures, meet people from all walks of life, and live many different lives through my journeys..."
But then I hesitated.
"But I was afraid... I chose the safe path — a steady job, a house, routine, and comfort."😬

The kids fell silent.
Then one of them said,
"Oh... Okay. We'll go watch Netflix then."😆
And just like that, they left the room.

In that moment, my heart sank.
I felt something deep inside me crack.
And when I woke up… I had tears in my eyes.🥹

That dream wasn’t just a dream — it was a warning.
A glimpse into a future I didn’t want.

So I knew I had to make a decision:
Continue my “normal” life — finish uni, get a job, settle down with familiar faces and predictable days…
OR say YES to the wild, uncertain, breathtaking dream I once had.🏕️

I chose the second one.
I finished university, quit my job, packed my backpack — and left home.

It was on 29th of March in 2017! I was backpacking for more than 5 years and now when I am kinda settled down in Canada until next chapter and I want to give back to the community ☺️

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

_I was traveling 5 years with my backpack only_
_swimmed in the cold river every winter for 4 years_
_hitchhiked in 47 countries and did more than 75 000 km_
_had an 8-years alcohol brake(now I am back 😆)_
_learned Spanish without internet or lessons_
_got lost in a desert_
_survived rip current in Pacific Ocean_
_the last and the best - my mom started to use couchsurfing because of me_😀
