WARNING: Due to too many surfers dying in the heat of my house. I have to limit surfers to only those who have a tent and camping gear during the July August months for backup purposes only. Those surfers who don't like the heat will be outside where it is significantly cooler. Don't worry. My back yard is good for camping. Not perfect. Good.
There are three rules to staying at my place.
1) 1 week stays are the shortest I'll accept. Please don't send a request for less. Please don't ask for an exception. Stay as long as you'd like
2) You must help out my project or my community. I'm building a house in the 9th ward. I'm almost ready for interior walls but I still have a lot of work to do. No complex work. Just hold this and grab that. Easy fun stuff.
3) surfers must be tough. Surfers must be able to battle mosquitoes, privacy, a compost toilet, the heat, the cold, the hood, and late night parties that will have you wanting to move here. My count is up to 6 people coming to live in New Orleans after staying in my house. One is my roommate Christo.
I have a personal list of things to do in Nola. It includes crazy shinanigans like abandon hospitals and the usual dumb stuff like cafe du monde. I personally try very hard to blow my surfer away. I get to know them and want to really connect. That is why I only host long term.
I have a number of bikes but you might have to work on it to borrow it first. Some of them need some work.
