About Me

Hi, I'm Doğukan, a 23-year-old adventurer! I'm studying geological engineering.

I am trying to travel as much as I can and words are just not enough to explain how much I love traveling (solo or in a group) and meeting people from different cultures.

I've been using CS since 2021 and it's been wonderful to meet all of the people that I met since then.

I'm quite enthusiastic about politics, history, rocks, and geography... I usually go to historical sites or museums while visiting a city. Since I was 18 I was pretty much focused on Europe to see but now I'm willing to learn more about other continents (especially SE Asia) and visit one day!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm in love with the welcoming Couchsurfing philosophy! Thanks to CS I met a lot of great people all around the world and I'm willing to meet more!!!

I've been using CS for couple of years now and I don'regret it at all :)

Interests

I love solving a good jigsaw puzzle and cycling. Would enjoy watching a nice movie as well! Other than that I really like walking in nature and swimming

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorites change constantly, it's like I'm listening to one music for a week non-stop then I never listen again. Currently, I am obsessed with Rammstein. About books, I can say I am focused on more biology-evolution-anthropology-related books rather than fiction but my absolute fav book probably is 1984. I've never been a big film-watcher I usually prefer less intense and less binding things to watch like sitcoms or comedy shows (especially when I eat)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

2 years ago I visited Ramallah, the capital of the Palestinian State. While we were wondering around and chilling, city got bombed which it was before the war. Fortunately for us city center wasn't bombed so it didn't affect us that much but I can't say for the refugees in the camp that was bombed. Interesting part was I had a meeting that day which I had to cancel and when they asked why I said calmly; well, we are under attack. My colleges were pretty surprised...

Teach, Learn, Share

Well, I want to be an academician so teaching something is one of my biggest hobbies!! I find it interesting to teach Turkisih to foreigners, as well as Turkish food or culture. I am super passionate about evolution (especially human evolution and other human species) and politics is my another topic of interest. I've always been a history nerd since I was little. I really like deep discussions about bigger topics like why were are here, or what is the meaning of life etc. Especially when it happens at the middle of the night :)

What I Can Share with Hosts
