About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To give my itchy feet a good scratch before I figure out what to do with myself...

ABOUT ME

I'm lively and outgoing and love meeting people - especially when travelling. There are a few trips that I've been desperate to do for as long as I can remember - including the one I'm about to embark on, a trip across the USA! I'd like to become a journalist and am planning to go back to university next year to do an MA in journalism. In the meantime, however, I want to do as much travelling as I can - which I think is a very important qualification for any writer to have!

PHILOSOPHY

I try to look upon everything, even bad experiences, as positive and try to learn something from whatever happens.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm new to the whole CouchSurfing thing - this is the first time I've used it when travelling. It seems great and I'm looking forward to making some new friends.

Interests

Anything and everything - I'm always open to new experiences. I go to the movies more than I can afford to. I buy more CDs, DVDs and books than I care to admit. I love taking photographs and am beginning to take my photography more seriously. I don't write as often as I should, but I try to keep a record of my experiences in life. I play piano and am trying to teach myself bass and harmonica at the moment!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I stayed in the Ice Hotel in the far north of Sweden - it was 32°C below zero outside and 5° below inside. I slept on a reindeer skin in the hotel, which was made of ice and packed snow, and the whole thing - the hotel, the light in the sky, the fact that it got dark at lunchtime - was beautiful.

Something else to add to that - yesterday I saw the Grand Canyon. Words can't even convey how amazing it is.
