About Me

******
A few things before you request your stay so that neither of us waste our time:
- My partner(https://couchsurfing.page.link/tAgU3C3J1SK49pVk9) will be traveling for a while and Safira(our dog) is staying with her parents during that time, so it's currently only me as the Host;
- I'm allergic to cigarettes, so no smokers;
- I might be hosting multiple people simultaneously, but I'll always notify people when that is the case;
- References are important, I don't host if you don't have at least one, it's also highly appreciated if you leave one;
- I'll be leaving Rio in December, so I'll, consequently, stop hosting for a while when November is gone;
- Please make sure to read the house rules, we are opening our place to you, the least you can do is read the profile and send a properly written request.
******

I'm a carioca student, about to finish my graduation in industrial engineering, trying to figure out my road in this beautiful but chaotic, and often frustrating, world that we live in. I've travelled a bit and hope to see more of the world in the future, but currently gotta focus on my studies and work so I'm doing my part as a host in my home city: Rio de Janeiro. I'm currently unemployed, but still I rarely have time to hang out with our guests during the day.

Some years ago I was unhappy with the direction my life was taking, so I decided to start anew by hitchhiking around Brazil to learn more about it, to rethink my life and beliefs, and to understand a little more about myself and the world.

I'm an anarchist and an atheist, I believe in our ability to be better and to do better and hope that one day the world accepts how small we are and that all we have is each other, so let's work together for everyone's lives to be the best they can be during the short time we have in this pale blue dot.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love traveling, meeting new people and places, to hear stories and see how big and beautiful the world truly is. I've been helped a lot during my time travelling and hope to be able to help other travellers.

Interests

As everyone here, I love to travel, but haven't yet been able to travel to that many places. I rather enjoy books, philosophy and politics and I insist on being an optimist and having faith in people.

I love all the good things in life, as I believe most people do: food, arts, good company, stories, adventuring, nature and learning new things.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm a reader, I love books with great stories, fiction and reality, I love beautiful and thoughtful poetry, and I like philosophy, politics, history and economics, but I'm very picky about those. My bookcase is filled with all kinds of books.
Music is food for the soul, I listen to a huge variety of artists and genres, but I listen more to Rock, Popular Brazilian Music(MPB) and to instrumental music. I wish I could play an instrument, but I lack the discipline needed.
I love movies, used to go to the cinema every week, but lately haven't been as connected to this world as I used to be. Some of my favorite movies are Cinema Paradiso, Hugo Cabret, A.I., 'Everything, Everywhere, all at once', Wild Tales and Pan's Labyrinth.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've backpacked 10 Brazilian states over 7 months.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach people how to cook and how to bake.
I've had some experience camping and backpacking that I can share, I was a scout leader for some years, so I can share some of what I used to teach there too.
I can share stories, some good food and a place to rest.
I love reading and watching movies, so I can also offer more than a few recommendations.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Stories, travel advice, nice conversation, help with shores, help in the kitchen and a fixing some stuff
