About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Make my loftiest dreams into mediocre realities.

ABOUT ME

I've moved around a lot in the last few years - nowhere exotic, mind you, but a lot. After stints in Waterloo, ON, Toronto, DC and Boston, I am now in NYC!

PHILOSOPHY

If you're asking about the cost of owning a yacht, you probably shouldn't have an account on Couchsurfing.com.

ABOUT MY PLACE
I live in a neighborhood called Washington Heights in northern Manhattan. I am close to the subway, but you should know that it is NOT in the part of Manhattan that is iconic, scenic et c. filled with attractions. That said, it is a safe neighborhood that has some nice hidden gems and lots of services.

I live in a one bedroom. I have a pullout couch in the living room. I also have some assorted other sleeping areas.

***ABOUT SURFING AT MY PLACE (VERY IMPORTANT IF SENDING A REQUEST)***
I am very busy. I enjoy giving back to the community, and I will try to host when I can, but you should know that I am not the sort of person who will take you sightseeing in New York. You need to be mature, responsible, clean, and independent as a surfer at my place. That means that you clean up after yourself, show up when you say you're going to (and generally be very communicative), are generally respectful of my space, my privacy, and my things, and take care of your own needs and wants without relying too much on me. I will try to accommodate you, but I have other things going on. I also don't think CS is about straight up reciprocity, but it certainly goes a long way when a surfer leaves me a token of appreciation (even if it's just a note or some worthless trinket), or does something nice for me such as cooking for me. I know that New York is expensive and exciting, and I'm trying to help you out, but if you can't be bothered to write me a little note on the day you leave, or buy me a drink at a bar, or not leave a mess at my place, then you probably shouldn't be traveling. By the way, if you don't have lots of good references or are under the age of 25 (sorry to be age-ist), I'm not going to consider a request. Sorry.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I host mature, responsible, and unobtrusive people.

Sometimes, when I need it, I surf. I try to be mature, responsible, and unobtrusive.

Every once in a while, I go to CS events. At these, I generally come off as immature, irresponsible, and highly obtrusive.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

When I moved to DC, I had a great run of hosts. Thank you! Now trying to pay it back in NYC!
