I've hosted several dozen CouchSurfers. I'm on good terms with those who've survived.
I tend to take long breaks from hosting, but I'm back in the game now.
Oh, I've only surfed five times myself.

CS is fun. It's also a never-ending experiment that just keeps on providing me with interesting life lessons.

I really like the Coen brothers, Gaspar Noe, and Paul Thomas Anderson. Movies that have impressed me the most in the last few years include "Enter the Void", "2001: A Space Odyssey", "There Will Be Blood", "Adaptation", and "Fargo." I enjoy eye-candy long-form cinematography (i.e., Ron Fricke and Godfrey Reggio for the win.)

I mostly read non-fiction. I'm a fan of Steven Pinker, Sam Harris, Daniel Dennett, Barbara Ehrenreich, David Sedaris, and David Foster Wallace (to name a few.)

I like to think of myself as a stand-up kind of guy (bad pun intended) — I like Ricky Gervais, Jimmy Carr, Louis CK, Anthony Jeselnik, Flight of the Conchords, Myq Kaplan, Daniel Tosh, Amy Schumer, and Reggie Watts. Does Karl Pilkington count as a comedian?

I came up with an idea for a dramedy series and wrote screenplays for the first three episodes. Despite an exec's excitement, it never got produced. Still, I'm quite proud of this.
