Im not hosting from 23 December until 9 January 026.

I have off street parking and a yard that's good for tents.
I have a saltwater swimming pool.
3 dogs.
1 duck.
2 chickens.
Some gardens.
3 housemates.
I sometimes take guests swimming at the beach or creek.
I like Petanque.
8 ball
I am 420 friendly.
I prefer if you don't arrive after 8pm or before 8am.
I do prefer visitors that come bearing gifts.
Beer, food and recreational candies are popular.
I have a washing machine and 1 of my housemates provides WiFi.
I have a bicycle you can borrow.
I'm close to Casuarina shopping centre, the university, the beach and the airport.
There are bus routes close by.

1 of my housemates is a mechanic.
1 of my housemates is a professional slide guitarist.

Please dont ask for anymore than 3 days to begin with.

I often ask my couchsurfing guests to do the dishes;either in the evening or first thing in the morning,whether you have eaten here or not as i think it's important that some sort of work exchange is given by you for staying here.
My housemates are very genuine people and are very welcoming but do not belong to couchsurfing.com, per say, and like to feel appreciated by having the couchie do something about the house.

Like the saying goes, " you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours."

If after 3 nights you want to stay longer by maybe renting 1 of the outdoor rooms we have or by staying in a tent then we will most probably expect you to pay a stipend of
a). $100pw and keep washing the dishes or b).$150pw and do your own dishes, or $30 per night.
We think this is more than fair considering accommodation costs in the city are $50 per night for dormitory accommodation.

( another thing is please mention the word
" Genuine"
when you request to stay.

That way I know you have read my profile completely which I think is important if you are to stay here.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I participate by providing a safe and secure environment for other CS'ers to enjoy.

I sometimes take them on informative walks and tours.

Like today (15/8/24)
I took 4 French couchies to the beach to swim.
They liked it very much and enjoyed the clean water.
Afterwards we walked up the beach to an outdoor Cafe where we had coffee and cake ( which they bought)and then rinsed off under a freshwater shower in the sun to wash the Saltwater from our skin and hair.
We then walked home.

I have hosted lots of people over the years and have been hosted by 1 or 2 as well.

I think if I'm showing you around it's only courteous of you to buy me a drink and a bite to eat if we go to a Cafe and/or a bar.

The best kept secret in Darwin is 1 of my favourite places to swim and walk.

You won't find it staying at a hostel or hotel in Darwin.

None of the tour guides, know about it.

That's the reason it's a secret.

Now(February) is 1 of the best months to see it.

I've also recently found a beach within the Darwin suburbs that is virtually forgotten and completely unexplored.
