ABOUT ME I am French but currently lives and work in the UK in the small northern city of Preston, Lancashire, in the UK. I am an enthusiastic person with a warm heart, always keen to explore things and places. I enjoy the little details of life that are overlooked, and be happy with the simplest things like good food - easygoing people - nature or a cosy place. I am usually very active, with the exception of a few days in wet English winter where there's just no point fighting ;) PHILOSOPHY There's always something we haven't thought about
Interested in Adventure Sports
Interested in Art
Fluent in English
Learning Greek (modern)
Why I'm on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE I first went on the website long ago to get inspiration from people's profiles all over the world. Then when I moved to England I started to meet local (and international) people thanks to the Couchsurfing network. They are now my friends :) I've a good track record of hosting people (friends and acquaintances) either for visiting either as a service, and now a few through Couchsurfing. I also met several Couchsurfing travellers in Preston to show them around and share anecdotes, and I really like to be a tour guide for a day! I've had my first experience as a guest through Couchsurfing in Madrid recently, and found it quite positive and makes me want to meet more people that way. I also tried Airbnb in Norway, staying in a traditional tent in a houseshare garden
Music, Movies, and Books
I like watching documentary or social movies, American and British TV series, reading loads of philosophic and sociological articles. I like warm and poetic music, and anything that can make me dance I am the occasional reader - sometimes fiction but really like biographies and adventure stories
One Amazing Thing I've Done
I love the sea so much I went for a bath on New Year's Eve in a 6°C water. I have managed to reduce my household waste (non recyclable) from 3kg a week to 100g a month in 6 months... still going strong ;) On the wishlist: travel outside Europe
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach: French, food recipes(vegetarian), waste free and DYI tips, cultural anecdotes Share: I travelled a lot, I love philosophy and studied urban planning, so I am always keen on debating on the future of the planet and other existentialist questions Learn: foreign culture and language, improving on my Spanish, Dutch or Greek, DIY tips, how to play the acoustic guitar as a beginner
What I Can Share With Hosts
My curiosity, my personal adventures, some delicacies and eternal gratefulness
My Interests
Places, people, history of both. Making the world a little bit less wasteful. I started looking at reducing waste at home which seemed to be the logical place to start from and live in line with my values. I am now exploring ways of using my skills for sustainable design projects, with the hope of making a living from it one day I also spend my spare time drawing, creating and upcycling things. I regularly train for Muay Thai boxing, and occasionally go running, climbing (bouldering) and cycle or walk to anywhere. I travel very often - my mother will say I have 'a foot outside the door'
