ABOUT ME/ algo de mi (en español abajo)

I enjoy meeting new people and hanging out with my friends. What I really enjoy is live music, so I'm often going out on gigs. In theory i'd like to stay at home reading and getting to know my guitar, but the reality is that I hardly ever am there or if I am, it is with friends. A social person :)

Me encanta conocer nueva gente y pasarlo bien con mis amigos. La musica en vivo es algo que me gusta mucho. Por eso voy a conciertos con frequencia. En teoria, me gustaria quedarme en casa leyendo y aprendiendo a tocar la guitarra, pero la realidad es que casi nunca estoy en casa! O si estoy, estoy con amigos.

Life is not going to happen while you sit at home waiting. It rarely comes to you, so it's better to step outside and see what it has to offer!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

After having travelled a lot, i discovered that the best way to get to know a place is with a native and the best way to get to know a person is by living or travelling with one! Here you have the 2 things in one wrapping :D

He viajado bastante, y descubrí que la mejor manera de conocer un sitio, es con gente local, y la mejor manera de conocer un local es viviendo o viajando con uno. Aqui en couchsurfing hay las dos cosas en uno!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm still a beginner in here. I've many friends and friends of friends that tend to use my couch. Also I travel a lot, so I haven't had the chance to host much.

Estoy principiante aqui. Tengo mis amigos y sus amigos ocupando mi sofa. Y como viajo bastante, no he tenido la oportunidad de tener tantas visitas.

Interests

I am a girl of many interests. I'm interested in arts and history. I love strolling around in an art gallery sharing ideas (and idiotic commentaries) the art brings up. I like hanging around with my friends- summer time is the best for picnics and the whole year one can enjoy slow get-togethers with wine and food.

Music is definitely the fuel of my life. Live music, seeing the musicians enjoy the playing, the audience being part of it and just sinking in to the feeling of the song...and dancing! I'm playing some congas myself, learning some afrocuban rumba.

As a Finn, nature is a large part of my life. Spending a weekend at a cottage, walking in the forest, collecting berries or mushrooms, enjoying the silence and the fresh smell of the pines.

Me interesan varias cosas. Me gusta leer, las artes y historia. Mis amigos son muy importantes para mi. Los picnics en el verano, o cenas largas con mucha platica y risa son excelentes.

La Música, sin duda, me da tanta energia. Los conciertos en vivo (lo más pequeño el lugar, mejor), viendo los músicos expresando su obra, la gente escuchando y pues, solamente dejandote llevar...y luego bailar! Yo estoy aprendiendo rumba afrocubana, las congas y el canto.

Soy finlandesa, y por es la naturaleza es un parte grande de mi vida. Especialmente los otoños, ir al bosque buscar frutas del bosque y hongos. Disfrutando el silencio y olor del bosque...

Music, Movies, and Books

For music, let's say I'm not a big fan of techno, black metal or top 40's. In general, music that has been made with real instruments and with one's heart in the process, is usually good. Lately I've been listening to old country, blues and jazz.

Now I'm reading Pablo Neruda's autobiography, which is amazing. Otherwise I'm quite open minded when it comes to books. "Secret" vices are some fantasy/sci-fi books/comics :D

De musica es más facil decir lo que no me gusta: techno, death metal y los exitos (autotune... ). En general la musica hecho con instrumentos y con emocion, es normalmente bueno. Ultimamente he escuchado a viejo country, blues y jazz.

Ahora estoy leyendo la autobiografia de Pablo Neruda.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Flew to New Orleans, rented a car with a friend and did a 2 week road trip along the Mississippi. Following the Blues trail, through small villages to Memphis, from there to Nashville and back. Mindblowing. The people, music and food was just brilliant. I've been longing to get back to New Orleans ever since.

De New Orleans rentar un coche, y viajar al lado de Mississippi, atraves de los viejos pueblos de blues hasta Memphis y Nashville. Era increible. La gente, musica y comida fue excelente. Tengo tantas ganas de regresar a New Orleans!
