About Me

**Currently I am unable to host (I am living in a super small studio in Paris) but I am happy to meet up and explore the city**

Latina/South American/Chilean 🇨🇱.
Currently living in Paris for a while for studies/work and traveling as much as I could in Europe.
Previously, I’ve lived in Chicago 🇺🇸, Chennai 🇮🇳, Florence 🇮🇹 and Santiago 🇨🇱

I am a PhD student and I study the two things you are not supposed to talk at dinner (politics & religion). But I promise you I am not boring (or you won’t be bored around me 😁).
I recently discover the word “dromomania” and I am quite sure I suffer of it 😬. It all started when I was 5 years old and spent two months with my grandparents during summer and I never stopped traveling since then, whether alone or with company. Well… I am super restless and need to be moving and discovering new places all the time.
I love to eat, cook, and taste new foods 🥘. “Je suis une gourmande.” I do have an instagram account (@saborkairos) where I share recipes and places I recommend to eat. My current mission is to find the best places to eat with cheap prices and good quality all around the world. I am crazy about street food and I probably watched all of the tv shows about it.
I also enjoy going out for concerts and festivals 🎟️, cinema addict 📽️, dancing reggaeton or electronic music 💃🪩, spending time at museums 🖼️or just walking around/biking 🚲. In recent years, I have been very much interested in photography and I am a big fan of sunrises/sunsets 🌅. In Chicago I used to wake up at 5 am and walk to the beach to see the sunrise over the summer (please don’t ask me about winters there 💀🫠)
I love to meet new friends and talk about different cultural backgrounds. Well, I pursue a PhD in politics and religion so that says a lot.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like to explore like a traveler, not as a tourist.
I've had many good experiences surfing but also sharing with CS friends in Santiago, my hometown city. Also surfing around the world. And I hope to show you around Paris.
My home is not your hotel. So, don't expect that I will accept your request under the idea that you will have free bed and free food. I am interested to share and get to know more about you. And I’ll do the same in my case.

Music, Movies, and Books

Currently reading: “Da Vinci Code” (Dan Brown)
Currently watching: The Handmaids Tale, Carol and the end of the world.

I'm addicted to tv shows and cinema. I use them in my classes so I spent many hours per week on it.

Music: I'm a big fan of U2. Besides rock, I love Latin American music, reggae, indie, EDM.

Books: Currently I am trying to read more fiction books by Latina authors. My plan is to read Isabel Allende’s bibliography.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

After eight days walking with a heavy backpack, and doing the O-circle in Torres del Paine, we arrived at the top of the circuit: El Paso. We walked for four or five hours when finally we saw the most impressive view. We were face-to-face with the Grey Glacier and the Southern Patagonian Ice Field. It was like the scene of Into the Wild. I started to cry and scream of emotion.

To sleep under the sky full of stars in the desert of Jordan.

Rafting in one of the best rivers in the world: Futaleufú.

Teach, Learn, Share

TEACH: If you are learning Spanish, I can teach and practice with you. Also, if you want to speak "Chilean" gang, I could be a good teacher.
I could teach you some Chilean history and culture, especially a critical and conscient one.
And if you want to cross Chile by hitchhiking, I would recommend you the best tips. Also, the best places in Patagonia to have an encounter with the most wonderful experiences with nature.

LEARN: I love to learn about other cultures and languages. I love couchsurfing because I can really get to know people and build friendships that will continue over the years.

SHARE: Stories around the globe, good food, good music (Spotify Playlists), and good talk.
