Hey guys, I'm currently doing an exchange semester in Shanghai and I'd love to get to know the country as well as possible. And what better way is there than through Couchsurfing? I joined the community over 10 years ago and I’ve had all my best travel experiences with it. I have stayed with many people around the world, hosted many as well, and also met many more through the meetup option.

I'm still a young man, time's passing by quite slowly... (I wrote this in 2015 and this was definitely wrong :D )

I used to work for some years as a freelance photographer in Berlin and experienced a lot of different and enriching things throughout this time. But then I decided to make a cut and leave this chapter behind. I started to plan a world trip and took a plane to Vietnam, starting my journey with a 40L backpack. Inspired by my travels, I went back to Germany to study urban planning. I need to be active and I need a lot of input to surpass myself. In the future, I think about working in the field of urbanism to plan sustainable cities for the future and in international development assistance for the UN. I want to work all around the world for about 20 years before I settle somewhere. Around this, hmmm… we will see.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

It's a perfect way to discover new cultures and it's such an interesting way, or maybe the only true way to travel.
I just love it, I've made excellent experiences !

兴趣

traveling and trail running in the mountains, snowboarding, interviewing, bike packing, volleyball, race cycling, reading random newspaper articles, meditating, hanging out with friends (!) arts and museums, surfing, random history, party, philosophy, asking many questions, good literature

音乐、电影和书籍

Sometimes live jazz with wine, sometimes rock in the car, French music for a croissant breakfast or techno at a festival

Currently I learn to play saxophone again after some longer interruption. Looking ahead, I'd like to play jazz with friends in some smoky bars. I love smoky jazz bars!

I used to read a lot of non-fiction but now I'm discovering fiction again. Mostly I love the books by Carlos Ruiz Zafon.

Audiobooks are superb, in my Audible account I have more than100 audio books.
