Finally I have my own couch after several years moving around CURRENT MISSION Getting to know Norway , exploring and hiking. Meeting new people, particularly with interests in Latin America and international activism. ABOUT ME https://www.uib.no/en/persons/Emma.Jane.Lord Researching tropical forest policy. My thesis builds on a research project on civil resistance to displacement in and around Cali, Colombia Accompanying the people of Colombia in their lives and struggles against oppression is the most incredible experience, full of light and solidarity. It is a journey in which I cease to be an individual, but part of a human swarm moving for change. Originally from the UK I’ve lived in Denmark, Spain and France and visited many countries in Europe, Asia and Africa. Couch surfing is a way to not feel like a tourist and find out something unexpected, even if to you it is everyday life. You can ask me about my travels, studies, random opinions, Always enjoy music, nature, art, chess (though not that good) or whatever your interests are, tend to try new things. PHILOSOPHY Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. The important thing is not to stop questioning. Albert Einstein

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING Recently I became able to host people in my home in Bergen. I've been very mobile the last few years and without a fixed place to host, so this is a nice chance to give back to the CS community. We sometimes get very busy at work, so if you want company for activities in and around Bergen it could be helpful to ask me with some time to prepare. COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE Always interesting and a chance to learn more about people than when you meet them in a public space.
Music, Movies, and Books
Acoustic, ska, bit of reggae, blues, jazz, anything really... I like world cinema and the normal movies that are more original.. I love books but difficult to pick.
One Amazing Thing I've Done
Being stared at (a lot) by (a lot of) children in Benin.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm an English teacher, also happy to teach Spanish. Or macrami (if you have threads).

Conversation, cooking, languages, I will participate in most random things.
My Interests
