Why I'm on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING I've offered up my couch to travelers for many years, then I found COuch Surfing in 2007. This is great! It is the single best travel tool, far more important than a pack towel or headlamp! COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE I've traveled a bit, usually for climbing, sometimes for the hell of it. If it wasn't for the kindness of strangers, I would have had many hard nights in strange cities.
Music, Movies, and Books
Books: The Righteous Mind, The Master and His Emissary, Malcolm X's autobiography, Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance. Anything by Steinbeck, Marquez, Heinline, K.S. Robinson. I tend to like nonfiction, but relevant fiction can be wonderful. Music: Anything live is good Movies: Baraka, The Secretary, Big Fish, Pans Labyrinth, Brazil
One Amazing Thing I've Done
Those come out in personal stories, a bit hard to relate in an internet blurb, and I'm happy to share in person.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm a geek about community development, economics, local government, and behavioral psychology. I love to climb big rocks, small rocks, or even buildings. I love to share that experience and sensation with others and teach them the ropes, so to speak. As for learning, the more I learn, the more I realize I don't know, so if we meet, I know I will learn new things, an I hope I can offer the same.
What I Can Share With Hosts
I love to cook, swap life stories, am fairly handy and enjoy helping with DIY projects.
My Interests
Climbing, surfing, coffee, reading, travel, and I can't forget politics and economics!
