Get to know different cultures.
They describe me as open-minded, friendly, needs time for herself from time to time but is really caring about the other's comfort.
Learn from others, but definitely don't forget your own plans/ideas/wishes/opinions/priorities, and if you don't have those..
And most of the times it pays off to think again in life,
Religious part of my philosopy..
I spoke to a couple of people about their experiences getting to know different religions all over the world, some of them really stepped into the culture and after that they mostly became atheist. But another while later, they changed to their own kind of religion.. Maybe the main thing is that, every person NEEDS a kind of 'thing' to believe in/rely on and if you comparise all kinds of religions around the world, in the end they're all the same..
That's what makes me interested !
I just think I still have a LOT to learn and my travelling alone has just started off..
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
In the apartment in Eindhoven area we welcome up to two couchsurfers. In our special room with view on the market square in the centre of our village.
No actual COUCHsurfing, but I went to have a drink with Hanoian DJ Tri Minh, spent two lovely days with Andrew/Minh in Hai Phong, one afternoon with Hoang in Hai Phong and while spending time with them, whom I met via messaging on couchsurfing.org, I met other couchsurfers too!
Really good experiences!
In Hobart-Tasmania I surfed at a shared house. Baking them Dutch cookies and going for jogging together instead of always alone!;
Then I surfed in Graz-Austria and talked and talked and talked the night since I had to leave the next morning;
And atm I´m surfing in BERLIN for a couple of days!
I live together with 2 Greek couchsurfers which I met -how surprising- through couchsurfing.
And finally I am able to host people myself in our house in the area of Eindhoven.
Things that really grab my attention are: Behavior of people - the economy - mainstream and distinghuising persons - so: individuality of persons - food facts - history - cultures + languages + dialects - the importance of art in the world - free, open-minded people - to be continued..

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Travelling on my own the first time, all the impressions. You cannot share it with someone who normally sits next to you. That is very special. And I haven't got very much experience with that. Only since my recent trip around the world.
Jungle trekking on Cát Bà island, Vietnam. And what was amazing about it, was just the silence of nature.
Thing I have seen: the traffic in the city of Hanoi, such an amazing experience.
[UPDATE]But that was just because of the 'first impressions of the differences in our world' I experienced.
The pure nature to see and smell and hear, standing on the cliffs of Australia's coast, watching over the Tasman Sea. A-mazing. -especially from someone from flat Holland, even though I live fairly near the sea!-
kaap de goede oop/ cape of good hope. Wauw.
My first bungy jump from 216 m Bloukrans bridge, South Africa.
Parthenon and Akropolis, Athene.
