About Me
ABOUT ME
I am originally from Houston and initially moved to Austin for college. As it would turn out I fell in love with the city and decided to make the move permanent. I work in Environmental Health and Safety and I like it enough to begin the five year process of becoming a certified industrial hygienist.
I'm a fairly outgoing person, some of my favorite moments have been small interactions with strangers. I thoroughly enjoy being outside! Even in the dead of summer where it can hit triple digits. I also am fairly passionate about cooking. I was originally taught how to by my father when I was four but when I started college my love for cooking came into full swing. I would consider cooking my only consistent hobby. Every other hobby I pick up I tend to switch between them quickly as I like learning new skills. More recently I think I have finally developed that addiction to coffee everyone kept telling me about, which I don't think is a bad thing.
PHILOSOPHY
Life is all about perspective. If you focus in too much on just one aspect, the rest of it might pass by.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
It all started with a recommendation from my aunt and uncle and after my first experience I couldn't wait to try it again. Though the opportunities have been far and few between I have had some great, memorable experience.

Music, Movies, and Books
I’m really into sci-fi and fantasy – Game of Thrones, Lord of the Rings, that kind of thing. I enjoy all sorts of music and I am currently learning to play the guitar (though recently I am doing a terrible job at consistently practicing).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have had the opportunity to watch a thunderstorm begin to develop over the mountains while camping out in the Saharan Desert. With not much around to make a sound, it was calming to hear the distant rumbling of the storm. The storm passed over our campsite quickly and turned what was once a warm evening into a chilly night. It was just interesting to see rain fall in the desert.
Teach, Learn, Share
Cooking is something I love to share with others. It’s always fun to have another person to join me in the kitchen! I'm still working learning on Spanish but sometimes it's hard to find someone I'm comfortable practicing with.
What I Can Share with Hosts
When staying in someone else's home for me it's all about respecting the way they live. I try not to be intrusive in their daily routine. I like to offer for them to join me in an outing to get to know them if they have the time. It is important to me to keep my stuff tidy and I leave the space I was provided clean or cleaner.
