First off I'm a twenty four year old South African. Born and raised in the small idelic coastal town of Hermanus. Being raised by two loving nature conservationist parents, who instilled in me a deep love and respect for nature along with our surrounding coastline.

I'm the kind of person that when life throws tough situations my way I don't say "why me" I say "Trust me". That said, I like to live life boldly with high energy and an open mind to what the world has to offer and to teach us. Furthermore, normality tends to bore me I view it as a waste of time thats why I always try to live each day and everyday day as an exciting new adventure that is about to begin. Therefore, I'm an outgoing individual who always brings a lot of confidence and positive energy to any situation and am a person who is always excited to meet and engage with new diverse individuals from around the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Currently I am completing my fourth year of university Marketing studies online from home due to ongoing covid pandemic. I have a whole house to myself here in Hermanus and would like to be able to share my home and the unique experiences Hermanus has to offer to any willing couch surfer from around the globe for the year of 2021

Interests

Primarily, being raised in a Small Coastal town I've always been involved with the ocean whether it freediving, fishing or spearfishing I do it all. My interests in Nature Conservation have helped me to do some incredible things and save a few lives along the way. My biggest interest is that of travel and exploration, I am forever wanting to expand my knowledge of the world through seeing it and all of its wonders and being able to meet such incredible and diverse people from around the world.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I got the opportunity while volunteering in Balule nature reserve to help save a baby elephant which had a wire poachers share stuck around its neck and it had been there for several weeks. I joined the chopper team and we set off to find the herd - 3 hours later we found then, the darted the baby Ellie from the chopper and proceeded to chase the rest of the herd away, I then joined the veterinary ground team, they cut the wire snare which was deeply imbeded in its neck I pulled the snare out and we proceeded to clean and dress the wound accordingly. While in the process of waking the baby elephant it's family herd came charging through, we all had to run and dive for cover either in the Land Rovers or if you were fast enough up the nearest tree. This was a truly humbling eye opening experience and one that I'll never forget

Being an open minded individual I'm always hungry for more knowledge and understanding, I have a vast range of general knowledge and have always been a quick learner and always eager to learn more. I can teach you all survival skills you'll ever need and I have a vast insight and knowledge into wildlife, nature conservation and the poaching crisis we face here in South Africa

What I Can Share with Hosts

I understand that hosts and there expectation is different but what I can offer is always a positive and hard working friendly attitude - I do not shy away from getting my hands dirty and I always enjoy helping others. I am very well house trained (clean and neat always) - this is thanks to the fact that I have lived with two females majority of my life. I can help put money towards food and accommodation if the host would like it or I am also happy to work of my stay if that would benefit the host more.
