3 Months in Europe! 80% of Europe covered (hopefully!)

ABOUT ME

We are traveling buddies out to experience the world. This seems like a great community to meet locals and live with them to see and understand their cultures. We both grew up in Canada and have both been to europe before (Mike=1 Dann=3) and hopefully one day plan to live there.

Mike here, a University student taking a well needed vacation from the textbooks. I am taking my Bachelor of Science and my favorite course is organic chemistry! I have high hopes to get out and travel as much as I can afford it.

Dann is stuck in the 16th century. If youd like to know more about that ask.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Wed like to host once we experience the world ourselves first while we still can! Righ now we are desperately seeking people from Munich and Berlin, it seems we decided to travel during the dates most people here have exams! Not fun! If you can host please let us know!!

Interests

Travel - Europe especially, doesnt matter the country, they are all great. Would like to go to Africa, the Middle East and possibily some areas of Asia.

Europe - Ich liebe Deutschland! (Dann). France, Italy, and Eastern Europe is also especially nice. Sometimes we wonder why we were born so far away!

Art - tons of it out there to describe in this tiny box! Like all excluding Modern.

History - Ancient and Modern are one of my loves (Dann). We must understand the past to avoid making the same mistakes twice!

Old Books - I am a antiquarian bibliopeliac (yes its a real condition. Absolutely obsessed with old books and what they have to say. Most topics I like to study are Natural Philosophy, Neo-Platonic Philosophy, Traditional Astrology, Alchemy and many other traditional topics (from traditional interpretations not modern). (Dann)

Medicine - Both myself and Mike enjoy studying about Medicine but for different perspectives.

Organic Chemistry - Mikes field of study

Molecular Biology - Another one of Mikes fields of study

Drawing/ Painting - We both love to draw and paint but unfortunately dont have enough time to do it!

Philosophy - Natural Philosophy and Neo-Platonic Philosophy are Danns favorite areas to study.

Politics - Dann enjoys studying about Politics as in the understanding and the functioning of systems of government and the studying of different poltical ideas.

Languages - Unfortunately for me (Dann) most of my books are not solely in the English language therefore knowing a few other languages is useful. I have basic German comprehension and vocab (so dont expect me to understand anything beyond Mein Katz ist rosa), speaking slowly to me in german may also help! I am learning (slowly) Latin as well.

People - We are both Xenophiles (meaning to love foreign cultures) and therefore we love to experience different foreign people and cultures. Its very fasinating.

Fishing, camping, sailing, camp fires - Who doesnt love nature!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think backpacking across Europe will be pretty amazing, meeting many different people and experiencing all the different cultures Europe has to offer......I'll let you know when we get back!
