I love the idea of meeting new cultures, get to know the real way of life and not only the touristic sides of a place and just spend a nice time with other people. My best experience while traveling were connected to couchsurfing!

Hiking in the desert of Jordan for 3 days, camping with beduins and enjoying the freedom :)
