About Me

I am an outgoing person who likes to meet new people. I have travelled and lived in other countries quite a bit, but as I am also very engaged in sustainability topics, I am trying to find the right balance between travels and not harming the environment too much while doing so. I love the outdoors, especially skiing (in the winter - can we please find a sustainable option for that?) and hiking/tramping (in the summer), and I am always happy to have people around me that are willing to join me in my activities.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am not a person that likes travelling alone very much, so couchsurfing is a great opportunity to meet people while I am in another city or country. Also, this way I don't have to stay alone at overpriced hotels or in 10-bed shared dorms in hostels where you can't sleep because at least one or two people around you are snoring.

Interests

As I already sad, I love the outdoors, so I like to spend my free time outside with friends, hiking, taking walks, going out for coffee. I also enjoy cooking, playing board games, or watching movies if the weather is not nice enough to spend time outside (although that is not really much of a topic if you have the right clothes). I enjoy good conversations that go deeper than the usual small talk, but I can just as well give people space and respect their privacy if they don't feel like it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

At 19, I went and lived in New Zealand for a couple of months. Didn't know anyone and didn't have any specific plans, but I dared to do it even though it scared me going there all by myself. Turned out to be one of the best times of my live :-). Exactly ten years later, I returned to this beautiful country for a couple of months and it turned out to be another one of the best times of my life ;-).

What I Can Share with Hosts

In terms of experience, I am always thrilled to share stories about cultural differences I experienced and to learn about the places I am visiting.
I am also happy to cook dinner for my hosts in exchange for their hospitality - I love (healthy) food deliciousness of any kind ;-).
And, of course, I am happy to invite you over to my place should you ever come to Germany!

Countries I’ve Lived In

France, Germany, New Zealand, Spain, Switzerland
