Hi there, I'm a young traveller from New Zealand. I will begin travelling across South East Asia in the beginning of February next year (2019). I will be travelling with a very good friend of mine who is also from New Zealand, his name is Max Barton. Since finishing our High School, we have both saved up money through working at any short term jobs we could find over the past year. Now that we have filled up our wallets it's time to fill our lives with amazing experiences, and what better way to do this than travelling. We are both very laid back people who love spending time in nature and partying.

We are on Couch Surfing to make new friends all over the world and share authentic experiences with people. Rather than travelling to resorts and having a private hotel room, we prefer to be more connected with the local way of life and get a stronger understanding of culture in the countries we visit. We hope to create amazing experiences both for us and everyone we are surrounded by :)

Fabian:

I saved a girls life from drowning during a school trip. The girl was a classmate and she got taken out to sea by the current of the water. I saw her drowning and went on a rental kayak from the beach in order to take her out the water. I pulled her out the water and onto the kayak, she was saved :)

Max:
Me and my family love going out on the boat after Christmas time and we do activities such as snorkelling, surfing, fishing etc :) . One time we were going on the great barrier me and my brother henry (We were both quite young 8 and 10) and we were rowing in a very small wooden boat called the baby b and we got chased by a bronze whaler shark (about 10 ft shark very common in New Zealand). It swam behind the boat and was chasing us (We could see the massive fin behind the boat). We were both terrified and I rowed as hard as o could to shore. The fin disappeared under the boat and swam away luckily for us. It was a crazy but super cool experience that I will remember forever!
