Hi! I'm Fabio, a 29-year-old guy with a big desire to keep discovering the world.

I’ve lived in different places: one year studying in Italy, two years in a small town in the United States… But in November 2023, I began the journey of a lifetime: a backpacking adventure through South America, changing locations every 2–3 weeks. After 15 months living out of a backpack and meeting amazing people and countries, I decided to return to Spain. Still, I fell in love with that lifestyle, and I hope to go back to it someday.

Now I’m starting a new chapter: I recently moved to Lagos, Nigeria, for a job and will be living there for a few years. Even though I’m going back to a more settled life, I’m really excited to immerse myself in the local culture and experience what Nigeria has to offer. It’ll be my first time in Africa, so I’d also love to explore other countries in the region.

I have never been able to host a lot of people because I always lived with flatmates: now, I live alone so I would also like to host couchsurferst at my apartment in Lagos.

I always find it hard to describe my interests. I love languages, history, literature, cinema, painting, nature, football… Recently, I’ve been getting into Buddhist philosophy, yoga, and meditation. I also really enjoy spending time with friends, going out, and meeting new people.

One of the best parts of traveling is the people you meet along the way and everything we learn from each other when we connect. That’s why I think Couchsurfing is a great way to do that—to share time, space, and ideas with others (and animals too!).

Soy Fabio, un chico de 29 años con ganas de viajar y ver el mundo.

He vivido en distintos lugares: un año estudiando en Italia, dos años en un pequeño pueblo de Estados Unidos… Pero en noviembre de 2023 comencé el viaje de mi vida: una aventura de mochilero por Sudamérica, cambiando de lugar cada 2-3 semanas. Tras 15 meses con mi vida metida en una mochila, y después de conocer países y personas maravillosas, decidí volver a España. Aun así, me enamoré de ese estilo de vida y quiero volver a vivirlo algún día.

Ahora empiezo una nueva etapa: me mudo a Lagos, Nigeria, para trabajar allí durante varios años. Aunque vuelvo a una vida más estable, estoy muy ilusionado por sumergirme en la cultura local y descubrir la experiencia nigeriana. Será mi primera vez en África, así que también me gustaría aprovechar para conocer otros países de la región.

Nunca he tenido mucha oportunidad de hospedar gente porque siempre he vivido en pisos compartidos: ahora, por primera vez vivo solo así que me gustaría hospedar a couchsurfers en mi apartamento en Lagos.

Siempre me cuesta definir mis intereses, ¡tengo demasiados! Me gustan los idiomas, la historia, la literatura, el cine, la pintura, la naturaleza, el fútbol… Últimamente me estoy interesando por la filosofía budista, el yoga y la meditación. También disfruto mucho pasando tiempo con amigos, saliendo de fiesta y conociendo gente nueva.

Una de las mejores partes de viajar es la gente que conoces por el camino y todo lo que aprendemos unos de otros al compartir. Por eso creo que Couchsurfing es una forma perfecta de conectar, compartir tiempo, espacio e ideas con otras personas (¡o incluso animales!).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love knowing people from different parts of the world: their willings, their culture, how they live, their differences and similarities, and try to approximate to the life of a person who lives in that place.

That's why I think Couchsurfing is a great option to open my mind and learn about people.

Me encanta conocer gente de diferentes partes del mundo: sus motivaciones, su cultura, cómo viven, sus diferencias y similitudes con otros, e intentar aproximarme a la vida de una persona que vive en el lugar que visito.
Por eso creo que Couchsurfing es un lo idóneo para tener una mente abierta y aprender sobre otros.

Some series I enjoy are Breaking Bad, Rick and Morty, South Park, and One Piece.

Lately, I’ve been really into reading travel books or ones that deal with anthropology and history from places I’m not familiar with. I enjoy poetry, novels, and theater alike. Some of my favorite writers are Angélica Liddell, García Lorca, and García Márquez.

I also love museums, especially painting. I’m a big fan of Michelangelo, Goya, Kahlo, Dalí, and Remedios Varo.
When it comes to music, I listen to a wide range of styles: rock, reggae, flamenco, hip-hop, jazz… and reggaeton too!

Últimamente disfruto mucho leyendo libros de viajes o sobre temas de antropología e historia de lugares que no conozco. Me gusta tanto la poesía como la novela y el teatro. Algunos de mis escritores favoritos son Angélica Liddell, García Lorca y García Márquez.

También me encantan los museos, especialmente los de pintura. Me gustan mucho Michelangelo, Goya, Kahlo, Dalí y Remedios Varo.

I could teach you languages: Spanish (as I am a certified teacher with experience), and help you with English, Italian or Portuguese.

I would love to learn french and also about yoga, meditation, budhism and new cooking recipees!

What I Can Share with Hosts

When I have a place I have hosted friends and CS people and it's been great! Now that I am travelling and I don't have a personal space, I am often not able to host anybody.

Regarding me as a guest, I am not fussy at all about the place: I can sleep in a sofa, and I can offer a good company, cook you some traditional Spanish food :)

Cuando he tenido sitio he hospedado gente de CS y muchos amigos y ha estado de lujo. Ahora que estyo viajando no tengo un espacio personal así que no suelo poder acoger gente.

Sobre mí como viajero, no soy para nada exigente: me acoplo en cualquier sofá. Creo que una persona que te ofrece su techo y su espacio sin pedirte dinero ya es acto de generosidad increíble. Puedo ofrecer una buena conversación y cocinar un buen plato de comida española :)
