Forgive me but i'll try my best to avoid making this sound like a dating advert. Spent the better part of my 20's in University following the academic route and came out with three degrees. Of course much to my chagrin I landed a job that had nothing to do with any of the degrees so I decided to play it risky for once in my life and drop it all off to travel.

I was fortunate enough to travel the world as a child with my family, which of course I barely remember. So I decided it's high time I make some memories of my own and I was hoping that due to the novice nature of my travels that I could get some first-hand guidance along the way!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Well the answer to this question can be summed up in two points:

1) I truly like honesty so to be blunt, saving money is one of the key features that has drawn me to this website. If I can avoid the costs of a hotel or even a hostel then all the better. Of course do be assured that there is definitely quid pro quo here and I expect no hand-outs or favours. I will earn my stay in whatever ways we agree to before hand!

2) I am not the typical tourist that enjoys only seeing sights and museums. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy a history lesson. However I much rather enjoy learning from those who live in the city rather than a rehearsed speech. I want to take in the culture of a city and see it from the eyes of a local.

Music, Movies, and Books

I fear that in this category there are far too many choices to pick from. My interests in music, film and books run the gamete from comic books to Dickens, Frank Sinatra to Basshunter and Shawshank Redemption to The Lion King. I guess an easy way to describe my interests in the arts is to ask me if I feel like the subject matter conveys the emotion I think it's trying to convey. If it's meant to be a sad film and comes off pretentious, you've lost me.
