About Me

When you find a place with smiling people, then you know, that here you can stay.

Hi there,
I'm Fanny and currently 22. While studying material science in my homecountry Germany I try to see as much as I can of this colourful world.

I love to go climbing in the sandstone mountains and hiking in the alps or the hills near my town. I also abolutely enjoy doing sports, learning Japanese or creating small things with my own hands. (like sowing a dress or dismanteling some broken electronic devices.)

I´d like to experience live in other countries, to see the vastness of the world we live in and the coulerful diversity of peoples life. But in my time during the pandemic, I have become a bit rusty and kind of a couch potatoe. ^^
So finally I'm looking forward to meeting lots and lots of different people again, anytime.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I enjoy travelling and meeting people. The world gets more colourful that way.

I really love the trusting and worldopen mindset of this plattform and of all of you, who are inviting and visiting strangers. ^^

Music, Movies, and Books

Music:
I really like Rock´n Roll, Reggea or music from the 70s and also american indian or celtic music. When studying I often listen to Lofi Girl.
My favourite band however is a japanese mixed-style band called "One ok Rock".

Books:
I have always read fantasy stories, mostly short german tales. But surely I know the popular fantasy as well. (The world of middlearth, Harry Potter, Eragon)
Sometimes I read lightnovels or mangas/manhuas that are translated into english.

Movies:
I can absolutely recommend the "lord of the rings"-movies, or "Avatar" (which was for a long time my absolute favorite). If you are interested in a more slice of life story, I can reccommend the emotional japanese movie "The Shape of Voice".

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

There are so many wonderful memories but since it asked for only one, this is what I picked:

With three friends I spent almost a year planning for an adventure and in summer 2021, despite Corona and against all ods we were able to travel to the vast land in the north... Alaska.
We spent the summer there building our own raft from barrels and logs, cooking and baking on a fire, inhaling the raw nature of the north and beeing welcomed into the life of fascinating people along the Tanana and Yukon rivers.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can not teach you or g8ve advice about the topics with deep meaning. But maybe if you are interested, I can tell you how to make a cooking oven out of stuff found on a scrap yard.
Or if you were interested in sports I could probbably teach a little about climbing and parcour.

In general I think, that people always learn, when they experience something new and meet people.

What I Can Share with Hosts

With me you will have a patient ear to listen to your stories. And if you want, you will hear some interesting stories as well.
