Howdy! 🌍 I’m Faysal, originally from Bangladesh and now living in Texas as a Ph.D. student in Agricultural Leadership, Education, and Communications at Texas A&M University. By day I explore how stories, media, and culture connect people, and by night I’m usually cooking, writing, or planning my next adventure. I grew up around rice fields, tea gardens, and rural storytellers—so agriculture and culture are deeply part of who I am. I’ve also worked as a journalist, filmmaker, and community organizer. Some of my short films have been screened in Bangladesh, and I love using media to spark conversations. I believe in kindness, curiosity, and good humor. Traveling for me isn’t just about places—it’s about people, shared meals, late-night talks, and little cultural surprises. Fun Facts -I run on tea ☕ (Sylhet blood, what can I say!). -I’ve hosted a radio show for farmers called Mrittika (“Soil”). -I founded a youth organization (Kaktarua or “Scarecrow”) that won a national award. -I can teach you how to eat with your hands like a pro. -My 2-year-old daughter thinks I’m a full-time clown, and honestly, she’s not wrong. 🤹

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
Because the best way to know a country isn’t through guidebooks or Google Maps—it’s through people, stories, and shared meals. I’m not here just to “find a couch,” I’m here to build connections. Whether it’s exploring hidden corners of a city, sharing cultural traditions (I can talk about Bangladeshi food, farming, or filmmaking for hours 😅), or just swapping stories over tea, I believe Couchsurfing makes the world feel like one big home. As someone who works in agriculture, communication, and storytelling, I’m always curious about how people live, eat, and celebrate life in different corners of the world. Traveling for me is not about ticking off places—it’s about listening, learning, and laughing with people who could become lifelong friends.
