EN: Hi! I'm Francesco, 37 years old, Italian, though I lived in Australia from the age of 10 until January 2023, when I moved to Reggio Emilia. I'm curious and highly motivated to learn from people and the world. That's why I appreciate interacting with people from all walks of life.

Over the years I've lived in a fair few places, and have studied many things. I have a degree in comparative studies in religion, a master in environmental studies, and a doctorate in humanistic geography. While I'm done with university (I'm not all that academic), I remain hungry for knowledge and study a few things independently. In the meanwhile I work as an English teacher.

Negli anni ho vissuto in vari paesi e ho studiato varie cose. Ho una laurea in studi comparati di religione, un master in studi ambientali, e un dottorato di ricerca in geografia umanistica. Ora penso di aver finito con le università! Continuo a studiare indipendentemente e faccio un lavoro tranquillo come insegnante d'inglese.

EN: I'm interested in many things: philosophy, spirituality, Qi Gong, meditation, language, counterculture, history, food, hikes in nature, and much more. Generally I'd characterise myself as someone hungry for knowledge, so many of my interests revolve around this hunger.

EN: I can't think of just one thing, so you'll have to have a chat with me about this when we meet! Maybe being a Buddhist monk in Burma for a brief period was one.

IT: E' difficile pensare a una sola cosa, ma direi che aver fatto il monaco buddista per un breve periodo sia una cosa abbastanza particolare.

Teach, Learn, Share

EN: I'm better at sharing knowledge than I am at sharing a lot of practical skills, though I'm an avid cook and would be happy to share my culinary know-how with you. After all, we're in one of the foodie heartlands of Italy! If you stay with me perhaps one evening you can cook something from where you come from, and I can do the same for you. That's always a good exchange!

IT: Sono più bravo a condividere conoscenza che capacità pratiche, ma sono generoso nell'insegnare e condividere quello che posso con i miei ospiti. What I Can Share with Hosts

EN: I live with a lovely housemate called Erica. We can offer you a sofa bed in our quiet and cosy living room. Apart from a place to sleep we're also very happy to offer you advice about what to do and see in Reggio and surrounds and, if not being used by someone else, a bicycle to get around easily.
