ABOUT ME

My wife and I just moved to Saskatoon a year ago so we are fairly new to the area. I am going to seminary (becoming a pastor) and my wife works at Investors Group..
One thing I want to mention is that we are pretty flexible. If you like to be on your own we are OK with that. Some people like hanging out but not all the time. I get that.

PHILOSOPHY

I am Christian so most of my philosophy is informed by my beliefs. I love my life because it is such a unique experience each day. Somedays it is hard and others it is enjoyable but each day brings something special, whether that is connecting with someone in conversation or sitting quietly and contemplating God and life. My fear is that because I am Christian people will be turned off. All I can say is that my wife and I are respectful people and are looking to enjoy the experience of meeting new people. This sounds so exciting to us.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We have hosted twice and stayed at one place and each time is so unique. One thing I found myself doing is telling my friends about couchsurfing which has started some really interesting discussions around safety and hospitality. I think couchsurfing can challenge the way we think about relationships, particularly how we meet people and who we meet.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We just recently stayed at Hermann and Rosemary's in Canoe BC and had a great time. This was our first time couchsurfing at someone else's place. It is always encouraging to meet people who are genuinely interested in creating relationships with others. Another good couchsurfing experience.

Recently I have been working in a hospital and experiencing a lot of death. I was in a room with a daughter and husband whose mom/wife was dying. One moment she was alive and the next moment the nurse said she was dead. At the moment she died it was as if the hospital room was separate from the rest of the world and the five people in it were all that mattered. Death is both a scary/sad event but also a sacred moment.
