ABOUT ME I currently live in Munich and am trying to obtain my PhD in Mathematics and then - I really don't know. Hopefully some travelling ;-). Whenever money allowed it I ran off to somewhere and I have lived in Canada for a year, in China for a year and had two very long trips (several months to a year) to explore various places around the wolrd. I know how much of a privilege this is and I am grateful for every single experience. As they say - once the travel bug bites, there is no known cure and I shall be happily infected until the end. PHILOSOPHY If I should have the will and opportunity to discover and experience the beauty of the world, enjoy doing it and posess a clear mind to learn from it and capture some of it, I shall consider myself a lucky man.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
Because it is a great thing to be a part of. While travelling I had some lovely experiences Couchsurfing and it is just a great way to connect with people and get to know a culture/city/country. And the odd time out it is just great to be invited in someone's home to when you need a place to crash for a night or so. NOTE: I love to have people here and to hang out with them, but I can also appreciate if you just need a place to crash for a night or two (and sometimes I can't spend all the time I want to with guests myself). However I still want to know who I welcome into my home. So if you have no references (which is fine, you need to start somewhere)/filled out profile I expect at least a personal message. I have no problem declining requests, that lack in message/profile/references. Once I accept, please confirm within 48h. If you can't because you need to confirm dates or with your travel companion or something, please let me know .

Music: I have a very mixed taste, but some of my favourites are The Cat Empire, Muse, Florence + The Machine, J.J. Johnson.
One Amazing Thing I've Done
Well, that is always a tough one, but mostly travel moments come to mind. It sounds like a cliche, I know, but I was blown away when I got to stay in a monastery in China, way out in the mountains.
