About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Spreading love, understanding, acceptance everywhere.
ABOUT ME
I hate talking about myself. I never think I'm fascinating enough to hold anybody's attention. I'd much rather talk about you...or the weather...or something. I'm a dad, a linguist, somewhat of a brainiac, a pagan, a spiritual Youniversalist. I love nature and spend a lot of time outdoors. I love to read. I like to play cards. I'm very social and enjoy gatherings with many friends. I'm very service-oriented and like making others comfortable. I enjoy trying new things and experiencing out-of-the-ordinary activities.
PHILOSOPHY
What a great question: Why do I live my life? I live my life to experience it. My purpose is to find understanding and/or acceptance between the various parts, and unity thereby. I live for peace and beauty. I seek harmony and i'm not above arguing about it. I desire to give honor and respect to everyone and everything. I believe that, like synapses in our brains, every contact between myself and other is an event that affects the whole of life on this planet. I believe that each event should take place in love.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I participate mostly by getting "in the face" of people who are different than me. (That's everybody, right?) I believe strongly in acknowledging the issues that divide us so that we can diffuse them. I believe in not being politically correct. I practice smiling at people. I am learning to be constructively selfish (to know myself so as to be able to be more responsive to others). I am part of a tribe of folks that are attempting to spread love, understanding and acceptance...changing the world.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've traveled with friends, met new friends and stayed in the homes of "strangers" many times in my life.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I climbed a mountain once. The morning spent climbing up one face of it was hot and sweaty exertion. When we reached the summit, the air from the other side just poured over us. It was almost like water flowing over and around us, that palpable. It was exhilarating, breathtaking, amazing. (OK, now I've thought of 3 other things...)
Teach, Learn, Share
I think I can teach something about communicating with others, recognizing that everyone speaks a unique language, how to understand each other.
I'd like to learn anything.
