About Me

NEXT TRAVEL PLANS
Oooh that's hard...I'm trying to save up for a round-the-world trip, so for the next year or so I'm going to be doing short distance trips. So the US, Canada, and Central America for now. Next trip will be Chicago for a weekend in April!

CURRENT MISSION
Make every day something special and be the best/happiest version of myself.

ABOUT ME
I grew up in Pittsburgh, PA and moved to San Francisco in 2010, studied abroad in Japan, traveled around Morocco, and traveled/worked around western Europe. My wanderlust is currently insatiable :). I'm a business travel agent but would like to somehow move into the field that I studied (international relations/migration). Also, I love learning languages and linguistics! I'm always up for hiking, going for drinks, or exploring a new place.

PHILOSOPHY
You only live once, so what's the point of being any other than happy?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Mostly meeting up with people, have surfed a lot in Europe, and occasional hosting

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I used couchsurfing in Tokyo and met a lot of interesting people mostly in bars or at hanami (flower-viewing) events. After, I hosted a bit in San Francisco. Then, I surfed a LOT in Europe and in San Francisco while in-between apartments. Now I just like meeting up with people who are traveling.

Interests

I can hold a conversation about pretty much anything...but I suppose when I'm in a new city, I always hope to do something unique that most travelers don't experience. I also like cooking for others and trying new foods as well as talking about...hmm pretty much anything that comes up! I think all topics are interesting. Though if you want to really hear me go on about something just start talking about world affairs (migration issues in particular), or linguistics/languages, or traveling! Always up for a hike or a drink.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - anyting that sounds good...I like The Temptations, Calle 13, Passenger, Ed Sheeran, Kate Nash, uhh...if I think of more I'll add them! :)
Movies - Cloud Atlas and The Orphanage are my favorites so far!
Books - wow, that's really hard to choose. Favorite authors would be easier: David Mitchell, Haruki Murakami, and Terry Brooks.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

So far it would be hitch-hiking to, walking and sleeping in the Sahara desert in Morocco for my birthday in 2014! Best birthday so far :)

Teach, Learn, Share

-If we stopped seeing the world as such a big scary place, maybe we'd all be doing what we want to do instead of what we think we're limited to doing
-Control over anything is an illusion and if we can let go of the need to control, we can focus on what matters: happiness
-Life is an upward journey, and while it's comforting to relax in the middle at times, remember that gravity will only push you down. So keep climbing!
-However bad it is...it can ALWAYS get worse! So just keep swimmin'.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Endless conversation, appetite for adventure, sharing stories/pictures, travel hacking tips, and perhaps we can cook together!

Countries I’ve Visited
