About Me

📍currently in Sardinia

👌Make sure you read the HOME SECTION 🏡and to include the PASSCODE that you will find in my profile.

If you ended up on my profile, I guess hey, I am Francesco!:)
I am 28 as I am writing this and in my first bio (a couple of years ago) I wrote that I was "not looking forward to getting older", but I now feel that every age has its perks (not that being two years older would make too much of a difference lol).

There are many things that I enjoy: meeting new people and hanging out with friends, the seaside and watersports (kayaking, surfing, diving, swimming), studying for my profession and reading a good novel (I love a well written and suspense-rich thriller), a game of chess and strategic boardgames, hiking and vast landscapes, the theater and cozy cinemas.

I also really enjoy what i do professionally: I have graduated from medical school in the summer of 2022 and, after taking a "gap semester" for travels, and then working as a general physician/family doctor, I am now in a 4 years residency programme in psychiatry. I am very passionate about mental health and I believe it is essential to emphasize it in a society as frantic and stressfull as ours.
I am also very interested in traditional medicine systems and medical perspectives other than the modern one, so I have started a four year course in Ayurvedic medicine, which I am enjoying a lot. I wish someday to include this in my practice, without disregarding the strong scientific bases of modern medicine.

I have lived in Milan during my studies but I come from a town nearby Ferrara (north-east of italy). I have spent two years studying abroad with the Erasmus programme: the first one in Tenerife (Spain) and second in Gdansk (Poland), and I have had an amazing time! Those years have been incredibly enriching and personality-shaping experiences: living in a different country is something everyone should try.
And in November 2024 ago I moved to Sardinia with my partner, with whom I am sharing a lovely flat in Cagliari and exploring the island whenever we have the chance. I am happy to finally live in a place with an extra bed where I will be able to host surfers as well as friends.

See you soon:)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

In a world where we disregard more and more the importance of community and the feeling of belonging to favour values such as total autonomy and self interest, I am hoping to find new spaces where to build with bridges and connections with like minded individuals: couchsurfing seems like a good place for this.
Travelling, exploring new cultures, sharing stories is incredibly beneficial in shaping our views and beliefs towards a greater sense of connection among individuals belonging to different parts of the world, for that reason it should be a more accessible possibility for everyone

Music, Movies, and Books

My taste in music is quite broad, i really like anything that has a catchy beat and im oftentimes mumbling songs or singing to myself.
I'm also quite open when it comes to movies and I like to watch some TV series every now and then, some of my favorites are Sense8, please like me, Derry girls, sex education, fleabag, crashing, modern family, Hannibal, Dahmer, the fall of the house of usher, Schitt's Creek, Bridgerton, The Residence, in treatment..
I also really enjoy documentaries and a guilty pleasure of mine are the game shows Survivor and The traitors. I used to watch MasterChef Italia with my younger brother, who has now become a cook

Teach, Learn, Share

One of my core beliefs is that there is something to learn from everyone if your approach is open and genuinely interested

What I Can Share with Hosts

I quite enjoy cooking, so I'd be happy to help with that. I like the cleaning part that comes afterwards less, but I have learned to manage that as well lol.
I can be a good company playing board games, chess (don't expect anything more than amateur level) or solving some math riddles, I'll try my best to tone down my competitive side 😇
I like to think that I am a good listener (supposedly I learn how to do that daily at work), and I enjoy asking questions, so you can count on me for that as well.
